Have you ever had a dream where your mind made up a person you talked to? They may have just been a composite of faces you've seen before but your mind still made them up. Most people have....have you ever fallen in love with someone you've made up?

In my dream last night, I was at the bank near closing time doing my transactions and I thought the tiller was cute and I tried to make her laugh and flirt. My jokes weren't working and she mostly brushed it off. As it happened just as I was done she was leaving too. So right up to when she went out the door I was still trying to talk to her...then suddenly she broke out in tears. I felt like a colossal jerk 'cause I thought I upset her and began to profusely apologize. But she just walked away and I stood there feeling like shit.

I turn to walk away but she runs back and wraps her arms around me. She confides in me that she has an abusive boyfriend and my friendliness was reminding her of the scumbag she has to go home to. This was the best part of the dream, the warmth and love felt so genuine.

We begin a relationship in secret but she does not break up with him. I can't remember why or if it was even discussed. We try this out for a while but I still feel sorry and helpless. One night I'm at a bar just drinking by myself. The alcohol coupled with sadness turns into anger and I decide to kill the boyfriend. I stumble out the bar with my bottle in my hand, and break it against the wall to use as a shiv and make my way to their apartment.

I get inside the lobby and try to use the lift, but a cop enters the building. I decide to take the stairs instead. As I'm making my way up I see more cops and get nervous as I'm trying to hide this bottle shiv. I finally reach her floor and immediately realize I'm too late. The police are standing around her dead body. Her boyfriend has beaten her to death. This was the worst part of the dream...and the last part I remember.

The dreams been on my mind all day and keeping me depressed. I just wanted to tell someone...

Has this ever happened to you?

Nope. But I have fallen asleep in a dream and then woke up before and thought it was real life. Then I woke up again. That was such a confusing feeling I didn't even know if I was still awake then or dreaming.

I have had a lot of weird dreams. Once I was at a campground and was on a rock which I was canoeing. Now I was seeing people from the late 1800's era having a picnic. Now I saw this exact image in a photo. I heard conversation but none of the, noticed me. Another one super scary. There is this pond in the middle and two paths going different directions. I look in the pond and something pulls me in. Three children and I see there lives like playing and then they let go and the dream ends. Looked like they were dead. Once I thought I heard a voice or voices loud. Scared the crap out of me.

I love talking about dreams and as I said in my first dream and second I think it is how dead people connect to people too

Oh my god. This is such a dark dream. My boyfriend of almost 4 years abruptly ended our relationship 3 weeks ago. I keep having intimate dreams that involve him, but then I wake up to face the real nightmare: not having him at all. It's terrible. I've had realistic dreams//nightmares, but these recently are the worst. Having a bad dream is one thing, but waking up from an awesome dream to live in a nightmare is unbearable.

I had a triple deja-vu once. I had a deja vu about this time I was having a deja vu about having another deja vu.

It's always been amazing to me. And the very concept is so surreal and out of the ordinary compared to everything else we do.

What gets me the most is how genuine it feels. It's sorta discomforting when I think about it. Either the emotions in my dreams are real or my real life emotions are just illusions. If my mind can make me feel love for someone in a dream, who's to say the love I feel in real life isn't created in the same way.

Your dream sounds like it actually follows a linear plot! I'm so jealous :p

My dreams make little sense, and normally end up with someone trying to kill me. :/

That dream is pretty horrible. :x

My dreams switch settings a lot. I'll be at home in one, and then in another place the next second. But I never find anything weird. I like my dreams though. They're not dark often, just fun. I fly a lot.

I hate how dreams can make you feel like utter shit and screw with your mind and emotions. I've had some terrible dreams, I also have dreams that just crush me - And I remember dreams in great detail which is even more of a pain...

I had a dream not long ago of a beautiful field of long grass and big blue sky. My father who has been dead for almost 5 years was standing in the middle, he didn't talk he was just waiting for me. I shouted something along the lines of "Give me a moment, I'm going to find Matthew!" My childhood best friend who passed almost 2 years ago. I turned and walked to the edge before a steep slope and I could see Matthew walking along an old dirt road a few KM's near our houses, but as he passed some trees I couldn't see him anymore... I ran along the edge of the slope but no matter how much I looked he had vanished. So I turned back to my dad, he too had vanished. And all that was left was sea of long green grass :C

And my mind has made up one or two people I've become friends with/fallen in love with in my dreams before. But I rarely have nice dreams, they're always weird, strange things :S

Wow Melchoire, your dream is so moving. It's like the plot for a short story. I am curious if during the course of your secret relationship, did you experience the time passing with her? Or did you just know and feel as if time had passed without going through it?

If I have ever had a dream that was so emotional for me, I don't remember it. I usually go months between remembering a dream, and even when I do it's just a small disjointed fragment, not enough to make a particularly lasting impression.

I just woke up from a dream in which I managed to escape from a modern day German death camp...
I think I might be watching to many documentaries.
Good dreams make me sad when I wake up but bad dreams make my legs itch. (weird right?)

The flying ones are the best!

Wow! That sounds even worse than mine =/ I'm sorry you had to go through that.

The time with her flew by without any specific settings or experiences. But I "knew" that we were together for a while and she was with her boyfriend. That's why I don't know why she didn't break up with him.

My dreams always end with someone dying, they're actually really gory. I'm desensitized now, at night I think "Who is gonna die tonight?" lol. I heard somewhere that a series of events can happen while you dream, in like a matter of seconds real time. That's what I don't like.. having a good dream for once and it flies by in flashes almost.

Also hate when a person in my dream will be two people. Like the face on them flicks from one person to the other and I'll have a conversation with both.
