Hey Guys, so I sort of had spare cash, to an extent, and decided that I'd go nerking. I had 3 Nerkmid's from my wheel of extravagance use, and decided to buy 5 more nerkmids.

Of the 8 Nerkmid's I used, two of them gave me another Nekmid, making 10 spins altogether. In those 10 spins, 3 spins gave me gross food worth about 10-15k each, 1 of them gave me 50k np, 2 spind - 2 nerkmids (as mentioned earlier), 1 bottled faerie, and the rest was junk Np and junk items.

Neocodex, how does your luck go with the Alien Vending Machine?

It's junk. Don't use it. It'll never give you anything worthwhile for you to sell.

If it never did, no one would buy nerkmids beyond one for the avatar.

At the same time I was sort of hoping for a paint brush, A Wraith paint brush sure would be amazing!

You want to spend billions for that shiny trophy, go for it.

I think he meant high end rewards from the machine as well, as unlikely as it is.

I did. It's highly unlikely, but you can get items that more than cover your initial investment.

Unless the probability of getting a paintbrush, is greater than 0.571429% (Get Off My Lawn Paint Brush), it's not worth it and you're actually far better off using the Wheel of Extravagance (which is incidentally cheaper) than the vending machine if you're looking long term.

Even more so, unless you're super insanely lucky, you're not going to win anything to cover it on the first Nerk.

    FTFY

I would honestly just do stock market for long term investment. Who knows? Maybe KSON will have a brother.

Actually, at lowest, the WoE gives out a better payout ratio. 100k for 25k is better than 200k for 20k

The best payout ratio is not using either of them. (100k for 100k) See the profit/saving you make just for not using them. :p

Both are waste of NP, just get the avatar and stay away from both.

So if you want the trophy on the first of the month you need to get a good item? Does it stack the score of each nerkmid you use?

It doesn't stack with the nerkmids you use, you jsut have to get a really good item out of it for a good score.

all gambling (wheels, scratchcards, buried chest, nerkmids) are usually unprofitable.

but it sure feels great when you win something big doesnt it? =)

well nerkmids have a chance for Paintbrushes. and if you have too much neopoints....

In my experience, AVM has never given me much reward. I was drawn to start gambling because it has a chance to give you an Eventide Paint Brush *_*. I'm sure since Nerkmids are easy to obtain now-a-days, you can probably gamble away and get lucky! :)

I prefer pulling the Level of Doom. It gives me the same sense of impotence for much less money.

AVM very rarely gives you more than you put in it.
Unless you're lucky and get the expensive paint brushes, it's not worth it. (besides the avatar)

No, you need at least 30k given to you in NP to have a chance for the trophy.

No you don't. Just use Nerkmids on the reset day and you're good. I did that a long time ago when there were 50k+ people on Neopets...I got gold on a reset day with only like 20k.

Is it true the better quality nerkmid, the better the prize?

I would guess so. They used to be different prices depending on how rare they were, but now they are all ~200k.

I don't think anyone's been able to get enough data to prove (or even suggest) a relationship between nerkmid quality and prize quality.
