So, I have been on Neopets for well over a year, now. However, I'm still not familiar with certain things. I know that you can have your main account, and five additional side accounts (when playing by the rules). But, what do you all mean by shell accounts? Are they literally just empty accounts that are sitting there waiting to come in useful for you? If it is okay for me to ask, but how many do you have?

They're accounts that you use to AB with as well.

Ah right, and they can be used for safe storage of items, too?

I buy shells to AB in the attic. I only have 2. I say they are my sides.

Shells, from what I understand, are accounts with no value to them (no notable avatars, trophies, pets, etc). People use them to AB with them, store AB items/bought pets/nps to make sure they aren't going to be frozen, etc.

So yeah, they are just empty accounts that become useful when ABing and with storing items/nps that are illegit.

If you want to have a ton, just use a proxy and you won't be chain frozen.

I heard it was safer to store big ticket items for a day or so if you AB-ed them on one account before doing anything else with them. Of course this could well be total hokum. It's hard to tell because every user seems to have their own system :/

    As Hug said above ^^

Also, what does ETS stand for? Sorry if this is another daft question.

I dump all of the items I get on to the TP or auction house that are UB on the same day...

As do I, I feel like that is completely normal behavior. Since the odds of a person actually wanting the item that they restocked is usually quite slim.

It's your main and 4 side accounts. You are only allowed to have a max of 5 accounts
    Careful now ;)

    Easy to sell.
Those aree items in high demand that can be sold almost instantly with little effort.
These would be Baby PBs, Ghostkerbombs, Royal PBs etc..

EDIT: HTS items are items that are hard to sell such as Books and sometimes clothing.

Are baby pbs really that easy to liquidate for 595k? I see tons of them on the TP all the time...

I sell them for 585k. That gets rid of them really quickly.
The 10k loss doesn't bug me.

Officially you are allowed to hav 5 accounts at all.
1 main and 4 side accounts or
1 main, 1 guild account and 3 side accounts.

Shells should not be IP connected to your main account. They are used for ABing or other dark activities. If you're brave, you can NF your shells to gift to your main.

Why would you use them to store items? O_o

    Because I have so much items in my SDB that I lose track all what I have ... ^^;;
I have a shell with R101 items waiting to inflate.

You mean, the 2 AAA account, on which you're ABing are your side accounts? O_o

Ah, thanks for the explanation :)

So, when dealing with the trading post, it would be wise to have Royal and Baby PBs to hand to bump up offers (because of the 800k limit on NP offers)?

Correct. Though sometimes people prefer to take it to auctions. It's really at their own discretion.
I don't mind accepting Baby PBs on my items but..sometimes I don't feel like selling them.

Getting the pure is much easier.

If you're going to auctions, it's a slightly lower profit for a higher chance of a sale.

Not if you advertise on TP and set a price.

Then the resellers come and mob you. I've been trying to get rid of a stamp for at least a week now and the best offer I got was 100k from a reseller.

What stamp is it. If it is like 200k you will only get an offer of 100k. Too close to buyable.

Its price is all over the place. Highest on TP is 300k, lowest is mine at 200k.

What does Codex say? Could be inflated. Most would want at least 50% off TP price if HTS. Sometimes more.

    It's been deflating.
