I did 
logged out, closed abrosia, then closed the program manager
Yet I was still getting stuff in my inventory

Check your Task Manager to see if there's one running in the background.

Click on the bottom right arrow thing that points upwords and see if there is the money bag icon. If so wait a few seconds and see if it dissapears. Try double clicking on it as well and it may open abrosia and then close out of it.

Ok, just shut down. Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening in the future?

Just don't open up more than one program at a time, and make sure you dont have any other programs running on different users or PC's. When you close abrosia, ensure you stop it before closing the window. Then close the program manager window.
Other than that, I'm not too sure as to why you were experiencing issues

Its sneaky 
when you minimize it hides from the bar in the downright corner unless you expand it it got to me a couple of times too hehe
