Guide to Neopets Reselling

so you want to learn about reselling? Well you have came to the right place! In this guide I will teach you how to resell your items and how to be an actual reseller and buy the items. Reselling is a very good legit way to make NP which really is not that hard. You don't even need a lot of NP to start! Lets get to the guide!

Trying to Resell Your Items

Probably many of us have went to reseller board on the trading chat on Neopets to try to sell our ETS, MTS & HTS. ETS stands for Easy to Sell, MTS stand for medium to sell, and HTS stands for Hard to sell. Now many of us have went to reseller boards to sell our items we want to get rid of. Most likely ones you have autobought. It sometimes is very hard to sell items for full priced so we need to resort to a reseller.

Now I have sold many of my autobought items to resellers. They are sometimes generous and other times not. Items most resellers don't like are Gourmets, Clothing, Neohome, Certain Morphing Potions, Petpets, Toys and other HTS which I will list at the end of this section. Most resellers are out to look for more ETS or MTS items such as Battle Items & Battle Related Items, MP's and Books.

HTS

Lets first start with try to sell HTS. I personally hate getting HTS. I prefer to avoid shops that have HTS items. So to sell HTS items you need to 1 not expect anything close to Trading Post price. Average reseller offers on HTS are at least 50% and more off Trading Post price. The 2 thing is when you are using the format which is this:

Item Name

Rarity:

TP:

MP:

leave the MP or My price blank. If I see an items that TP is 800k and seller wants 700k I won't even bother to offer. Even if the person would be willing to accept 200k I won't bother because I think they guy will want 700k or something close to it.

MTS

Medium to sell items people usually do not classify this as a category but some do so I will just add it. MTS is neither HTS or ETS. I would consider BD items & certain MP's MTS. BD items you will get offers quick but it will be nothing close to the TP price but it will not be like HTS offers. MTS also can be r101, r180, r99 items too. It really all depends on the item when it comes to MTS. For MTS I would do almost the same as HTS. Leave the My price blank and expect fairly low offers.

ETS

Easy to sell is a category which mean the item is Easy to Sell. Now when you offer a reseller a ETS items once again do not expect to get TP price or 5k off it. For ETS I consider MP's & PB's ETS and the only thing ETS on neopets. But once again CERTAIN MP's which I will get into later in this category.

Paint Brushes

Paint brushes a VETS - ETS. When selling a Paint brush the higher priced once such as Usuki Paint Brush, Maraquan Paint Brush or Mystery Island Paint Brush you will expect 100k - 300k off TP price. For Tyrannia Paint Brush, Strawberry Paint Brush or any paint brush under 1 mil I would expect a 30k - 60k off TP price.

Morphing Potion's

Morphing Potion's as I said earlier is mixed around into HTS, MTS and ETS. Morphing Potions which are LE pets, Expensive Colours are usually ETS with a few exceptions. Some exceptions would be that LE pets Tonu, Hissi and jetsam which are not popular species of neopets. For expensive paint brushes my rule is if the morphing potion costs more then the paint brush then it is HTS unless it is a LE pet

Being a Reseller

Being a reseller is not easy. Have to deal with people who will not budge on there price or people who do not follow your directions on how to post. Even with those reselling can pay off. Many resellers have made millions off reselling alone. Some resellers have made 100 mil plus just by reselling. With reselling you need to know what is inflated and what is not. That should be the first thing you learn. A good resource is of course Neocodex Item Database. I will take an example I know. I little while ago Spooky Pink Popcorn was around 150k but in a matter of days it was inflated to 400k. Once something is inflated it is hard to sell even if it is a ETS item.

Another thing you need to know when reselling is if an item is HTS, MTS or ETS. You do not want to get stuck with a HTS item if you don't want one. =) The list below will tell you what I consider HTS, MTS and ETS.

HTS

- r101 or low rarity UB's
- Newly released items
- Gourmets
- Petpets/Petpetpets
- Toys
- Neohome Items
- TCG
- Collectable Cards
- Instruments
- Clothing
- Usuki
- Unpopular Neopets Species, Color, or LE tonu species Morphing Potions
- Books

MTS

- Battle Items (Bad stats, Low rarity UB)
- Low Priced/Rarity UB stamps
- Certain unpopular but r99, expensive paint brush, or LE pets Hissi & Jetsam Morphing Potions
- Avatar Items

ETS

- High prices/rare stamps
- Popular Species, LE pets excluding Hissi, Tonu, and Jetsam Morphing Potions
- All petpet paint brushes or paint brushes
- Avatar Items

So now that we got the basics you will now need to decided which ones I would like to buy. If you are just starting out only go with the ETS. Once you get familiar with ETS and reselling itself move into MTS. Some may want to just stick with ETS and MTS which a lot of resellers do but some of you may want to go into HTS items. Once again HTS is Hard to Sell and I mean hard. Most of these people who want the items are just going to stick it into there gallery and they are not going to give you full price. You need a lot of time and patience for HTS and you need to advertise them on the Trading boards on neopets.

Reselling with Little NP

If you are just starting out youy more likely don't have a lot of NP. When starting out you will mainly buy condestones which are ETS. Lots of times people may misprice, or mark the codestone very low. It helps if you have SSW that comes if you are a premium member but SW work too. Once again for a reference use the Item Database for the current prices.

Once you have 200k NP from reselling codestones move up to the buyable Paint Brushes and Red Codestones. Most buyabled paint brushes are ETS excluding the basic color ones which I would stay away unless they were very cheap and the Red Codestones are definitely ETS too. Other items you can resell that are buyable are Dubloons, Avatar Items, and Bottled Faeries.

Here is my reseller log for a month:

I forgot to put in Lutari. I would consider ETS since it is a LE. That is one of the Morphing potions I have not had much experience with.

Extremely ETS. Back when I bought them from attic, I'd have no problem at all selling them.

Nice guide, I do sometimes like to dabble in reselling, it's a lot more work than ABing but the profits are consistent and legit :)
