Here's some questions to clear things up regarding the use of the source image.

For this week's SOTW, does the entry have to be of the image you provided? Such as rendering or vectoring the Meerca and doings something with it?

You can cut parts of the source image and use only that. You can then shop, chop, scale, flip, recolour and even trace it to vectors and add/remove funky parts from it. You could even slightly change their poses or paint/render them with different paint brush colours.

It doesn't even need to be one or two pets that are present in your final banner. You could just take some apples or autumn leaves and work those into your composition.

Hope this clears things up, feel free ask further questions or show concept art/ideas if you're still unsure what qualifies.

I do not really particularly enjoy this stock image, so again, I'm sitting this one out. However, because I don't really feel comfortable with it,it'll be interesting to see how others use it ^^;

Also, I'll donate a small prize.

Using the 550 x 200 pixel limit would make this a little hard since the image itself is not that and if you try to resize it will become squished. I will definitely be entering this one. =)

As said earlier, you don't have to fit the whole source image into your siggy. You can just cut/crop and use parts of it. Mix and be creative!
