That's silly. Women can impose gender stereotypes on each other just as easily as men can impose gender stereotypes on women.

Hey! You get out of here with your logical thinking and what not! *Swings broom*

Uh, dude? Most girls do these things. We have periods that include hanging tampon strings, we pick our noses, we fart, we make fools out of ourselves, etc. just like everybody else. You're either incredibly shallow or you live in a fantasy world where fair maidens think and behave in a very specific way and those are the only true women and all of the rest of us are trolls or something.

Not to sound like a pretentious hipster douchebag but this is hilarious and a beautiful challenge of gender stereotypes and if you don't think so, you probably just don't get it.

My my, you and I have quite the rapport going, thus far.

I am actually incredibly shallow; I would not even consider taking a girl I'm not attracted to out on a date. Furthermore, you'll be pleasantly disgusted to know that my 'fantasy world', in which I refuse to hangout with girls who do gross things and my significant other accepts old fashioned gender roles, is populated with plenty of other humans, both male and female, who think just like me.

To be perfectly frank those girls, by my standards, aren't very attractive. To call themselves 'Goddesses' isn't at all modest, nor is it even close to being a very good descriptive of themselves.
Yes I can see the argument of 'inner beauty shining through' and all that bullshit, but still... they aren't anything special.

The point isn't to be modest. If their immodesty bothers you, then you have some pretty decided ideas of gender role, which is why this blog exists in the first place!

And also, again, simply becasue you don't find them attractive does not make them objectively ugly. SO WHAT I'M SAYING AND ALSO WHAT THIS TUMBLR IS SAYING is that even pretty girls do gross things and have fuck-up moments.

You're all focusing way too hard on the fact they've called themselves goddesses and you disagree. I know that it might seem that the focal point of the Tumblr is pretty women for you to look at and judge based solely on appearance but it's really not!

I don't really care how "hot" they are. I understand the point of the blog and I appreciate the art behind it. I followed it, actually. Long ago, when you first posted it. But a debate on whether these women are pretty or not is not even really in the spirit of the blog, so I don't see why anyone is making a big deal out of it.

    fem·i·nism

    noun
    1.
the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.
    2.
( sometimes initial capital letter ) an organized movement for the attainment of such rights for women.

"Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women. Oops. Sorry, I thought I was equal and that having a vagina didn't actually make me inferior. Sorry, guys!

I think the entries are funny.
I don't think the women are attractive, but you are right, that doesn't matter.

What bothers me is that, just because we don't think these women are attractive we are suddenly being completely figured out by Contrasai somehow.
She doesn't know Kiwi in any way shape or form, so how does she know that she is "pretty decided on gender roles".. That doesn't seem fair at all.

She didn't tell us what were supposed to be discussing as far as this thread goes.. so people just replied with whatever hit their mind first.

I think the ladies will appreciate it a whole lot more than the men.

You're either incredibly shallow or you live in a fantasy world where fair maidens think and behave in a very specific way and those are the only true women and all of the rest of us are trolls or something.

You think that women are supposed to look and act a certain way and these women aren't doing that, therefore, challenging the stereotypes you, yourself have about women and a woman's role in society.

The point isn't to be modest. If their immodesty bothers you, then you have some pretty decided ideas of gender role, which is why this blog exists in the first place!

I didn't say that out of the blue. There was a reason behind it. The reason specifically being that she called these women immodest because they called themselves goddesses. Who gives a fuck about immodesty? Immodesty is only a thing if you think that women are supposed to be humble, submissive little butterflies.

She didn't tell us what were supposed to be discussing as far as this thread goes.. so people just replied with whatever hit their mind first.

Didn't realize that you guys would only fixate on the visual aspects of the blog. And it wasn't even supposed to be a serious debate about feminism and gender roles and shit. I just thought this was hilarious and wanted to share and I thought other people would share in my humor.

I don't know what you're saying here. What do men have to do with female gender roles? Everything, just as females have everything to do with male gender roles. We decide what's appropriate for each gender to do and say and think and look like.

Some of your comments do sound pretty feministy.

FEMINISM ISN'T A BAD THING, YOU GUYS. I don't hate men! I love men! Penises are great! I just also think that, you know, WOMEN ARE PEOPLE, TOO. Is it such a bad thing to think that women deserve equality and to point out that they don't have it now?

Of course women and men should be equal (you don't need to be feminist to think that), the problem is that most feminists don't seem to think that, rather they seem to believe that men are the root of all evil most cases. (I once got wrong from a feminist lecturer for using the word 'spokesman' in an essay, it's petty things like that which has given the feminist movement a bad name.)

Look. You are the one who was bringing gender roles into this. It has shit all to do with anything. Which is what I was pointing out.
Somehow you think just because we don't find THESE specific women attractive that we think women are inferior? Where is the logic in that?

    Anyways, back on topic.

Hey! Take a look at those two definitions I posted earlier! That's what feminism is! The belief that women are equal! Just because some women have used it as a platform to rail against men doesn't mean that all feminists use it like that! I'm a feminist and I'm proud to be identified with the word. And actually, yes, you do need to be a feminist to think that men and women are equal. Because that's what that word means. Just because you have issues with being called a feminist doesn't mean you aren't one!

    Oh my god.

I brought up gender roles because multiple said they were grossed out by the things these women posted and you even posted about how you don't fart, which is a gender stereotype! I also never said that you think women are inferior because you don't find these girls attractive! I said you're shallow and have ideas about what a woman 'should' look like, which is, again a gender stereotype. There's a difference! You can think they're ugly and I can say that I think you're wrong.
