Yes. I can see why they would rise and why other loans are falling. I can think of a couple of things.
1. The Stock Market crashed in 2009 I believe leaving the Universities with less money so the need to raise student loans.
2. Student loans cannot be filed in bankruptcy which means you will be stuck paying them for the rest of your life so if they raise it the person who takes it will NEED to pay it back.
