i was trading an item, and quoted a price for the item listed on neocodex, and was frozen for that.

would u believe it?

any chance sending a ticket will get my account back?

BTW, you're not supposed to reference the names of ANY other websites on Neo, not just cheating ones. That's why people say "Poogle" instead of Google, "JN" instead of JellyNeo, etc.

You can try sending in a ticket but I think it'd just be easiest to start rebuilding, good luck :c

You aren't allowed to mention any non-certified website on Neopets.

I think you might be able to appeal though if you just mentioned it for prices as long as you basically beg them.

still at minimum, its pretty harsh. i mean at least give a warning before freezing?

its so draconian, especially coz i was going about it in a harmless manner.

couldnt find the price for an item, and i was the only item on trading post, so googled it, and only neocodex had the price.

so i told the guy to check out the price on neocodex. and got banned for that. oh well if it doesnt get unfrozen, (_(*(* that, its back to uni work for me. tons of stuff to revise for medicine!!!

Well there was certainly no cheating going on there so technically it was legit.

I'd say that's fairly justified, considering this is a "cheating" site, and it's also not affiliated with Neopets.

I only ever used the item database so I never bothered looking around! The only reason I joined was to buy instant NC cards!! I didn't even think to check whether it was an accepted site, it just completely slipped my mind!

I feel like they can be a little harsh but they probably get so many scammers and stuff it is easier for them to freeze anyone even talking about offsites. good luck rebuilding! you can always buy a new account here. haha XP

If you've placed NC on the account you may have some more clout with the neopets team. Contact an admin about this and they can give you more information.

While codex did start out as a cheating site, I would say we have just as many, if not more, legit tools now as other legit sites out there. We just cater to both categories now but are unfortunately placed into only a single bucket of cheaters . It's quite annoying.

As I said, I'd only used the item database and never looked around. Literally what happened was, I searched for an item database, got the link then added the direct link as a bookmark. So, it was during a time that I'd ONLY seen the item database that I mentioned it in Neomails. I didn't know about programs until after I clicked the forums.

I think if you appeal and say that you were looking for price checkers on google and stumbled upon this site without knowing it is a cheat site, they will let you go.

I have mentioned codex on Neopets to resellers before for the item database and I did not get frozen. Now I think TNT is easy if you have no suspicious activity going on but if you do.

I think I was on a board a week or so ago and this user mentioned that she bought NC from "a site that starts with neo and ends with codex". She got frozen the next day, and I remembered cause I actually bookedmarked her to see if she got into any trouble.

General rule of thumb then; don't mention any other sites beyond those certified fansites.
