Using a dodgy proxy?

Also, read this.

I'm not using a proxy at all.

Also I should probably mention the program was working fine for me up until this evening.

Please try now (I have it retrying two more times if it can't get the DB info the first time around due to connectivity issues or whatever)..... If you get the error again, it's something wrong with your connection to us and I'll have to dig much deeper to figure out what it is. :/

I'm not getting the error now, but it seems to be stuck on "initializing".

Any errors? That seems quite odd. That's after a complete restart of the Program Manager?

Ah, no, I restarted it again and looks like it's working now. Thank you!

Ah, no, I restarted it again and looks like it's working now. Thank you!

Interesting... hopefully the error never comes back. :p

I think I might have figured out what was the problem. The program crashed, and when I opened it back up, it got stuck on initializing again. I also noticed that the manager said "Neopoints: ??,???,???". I went to login settings and logged myself out and back in again and restarted, and that fixed it.

Actually I'm having the same problem, where it just sticks on Initializing. I tried everything suggested here, and I've gone as far to restart my computer several times to no avail.

Did you follow these steps? This fixes it for me every time.

1) run abrosia
2) go to login settings
3) logout, then login again
4) close ab and open again

The problem only happens to me when the lower righthand corner of the manager is reporting neopoints as ??,???,???. After I log back in and the proper amount of neopoints shows up, the AB works.

Also, I think the cause for it in the first place is closing the AB without clicking "stop".

Weirdly enough logging in and out does not change the ??,???,??? to my neopoints on hand, and it still is stuck on initializing. D:
I'm going to see if its something with my internet, which wouldn't surprise me. Thank you anyways~

edit; Finally showing neopoints on hand, but after leaving AB alone for ~2 minutes, I received:

Ugh nevermind, it's not working for me anymore either. The NP is correct, but it still gets stuck on initializing no matter how many times I log out and back in. This is such a shame; the program is so cool when it works. I was even thinking about buying advanced. :(

Just gotta figure this little error out.

Don't know if this has anything to do with the problem but are you on a slow connection? I'm visiting home for the holidays and my family lives in the middle of a wheat field for some reason, so I'm on satellite internet atm.

Ah that makes sense. I'm using dorm internet which hasn't been a problem so far, but it does get slow sometimes.

I'm getting the 'couldn't decode items database information' error every time now. Abrosia's completely broken for me. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the whole program manager, and no change. It's weird, too, because the shop autopricer works fine...doesn't that also use the item database?

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't really do much, given that the download hasn't changed in about 2 years. :p

For me, it is interacting with the database just fine (as are 207 other users who have in the last hour). There has to be something wrong with your connection... just a matter of what. :/

Maybe. I am probably going out tomorrow, so I'll see if I can't get it to work on public wifi. The internet I have now is pretty horrible.

This happened to me too. But this was the message:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/cdx/svn/checkout/core/trunk/Program Manager/ProgramManager.py", line 1211, in run_with_except_hook
File "Programs/1001/Abrosia.py.nc", line 717, in run
File "Programs/1001/Abrosia.py.nc", line 967, in processNextTaskItem
File "Programs/1001/Abrosia.py.nc", line 2325, in visitShopMain
AttributeError: Abrosia got logged out and login failed, so program was forcibly aborted.

It works fine for like 10 minutes and then this keeps happening. :/

Also just got this when I tried to restart:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/cdx/svn/checkout/core/trunk/Program Manager/ProgramManager.py", line 1211, in run_with_except_hook
File "Programs/1001/Abrosia.py.nc", line 717, in run
