Are there any good tips and strategies for completing these quests? What are some of your personal experiences? At what level, for you, did they start asking for unbuyables?

Jhudora around the 23 range (give or take a level). Illusen so far hasn't asked me for a UB and I'm up to 33 with her (just completed 32)

I do my quest at the time when more people are online that way if one asks for a UB, ill have a good chance that someone who sells it may be online.

EDIT: illusen quest 33 for me was a UB (cheap 300k but still a UB)

From my experience the quest spike dramatically, from being buyable to being millions, around quest 35.

My highest on illusen is 43 and my highest on Jhudora is 38. I just find it impossible to completely win even if you do have the neopoints to buy things. I had an r99 seller that helped for 4 quests, but later on, you just get unlucky.

From my personal experiences, J starts ask the UB at around 23 or 24; I begins at around 33 or 34. And first I just think they would request rarity to rarity,  but they didn't. They may first ask some r95 at the very beginning, but later they will go at random, which means they would ask you r98 in Illusen quest 35 (but she asked r94 and r95 formerly). Therefore, my suggestion is that you  should find someone who collect every types of items, such as the plushies, gourmet food or toys. What's more, the most annoying thing is the newest item just releasing by the TNT( the most common items belong to clothing). If you are unlucky, you may be asked for such searchable but nonexistent items in the market. If so, maybe you would fail the quest.

I have tried it for many times, and I still could not meet other players at the same time. If you really wanna reach the higher level, you should tell yourself that stop your  quest if they ask for spending more than 1m to get the item, unless the reward is worthy than that. Otherwise, you may lose much over than you expected.

It sounds too frustrating and frantic for me. I got Illusen to 20 for the Avatar, and stopped there. It's really dumb to have sixteen minutes to buy something when a majority of trades will not be online to see your offer in that time frame.

It would be nice if it was made easier. WoDF... *_*

Would be profitable to have ALL R98, R99 items just to farm Jhudora... It would pay off in the long run, even though the collection would cost a lot.

When you're going for the higher level quests (35+) it's pretty much essential to prepare for it either by having your own large collection of high rarity items or by being in contact with others who have collections like that who would also be willing to sell the required item to you fairly quickly.

highest ive gone on illusion was 42 on old acct that had 100 or so r99's and access to others. Got bombed with a 10m item that only was in a gallery and user offline *sigh* prior to that 35-42 was average 500kish cost mp's are the easiest to get suprisingly. Best bet is to hoard r99's, aim for level 34, then put a board up around 7pm-10pm fri/sat on the battledome page asking for help and feeling out how many are online since these are generally the richest people with the largest galleries. I wouldn't even try it outside that time frame. Goodluck to anyone going for it but its a serious challenge that requires more luck than anything.

For a "trash"-neopets user like me there is no way to complete all of those quests. I haven't got enough money and I didn't buy many shares yet. So from about 30 the quests cause a big problem for me.

That's basically what I was thinking. Just make sure to have access to as many r99's as possible.

Serious questers don't rely on anyone else. They also don't sell any of their own R99s and they all lowball the shit out of every offer they make to acquire items. Pretty annoying but after acquiring hundreds of r99s, they've gotten pretty used to it.

A lot of people aren't able to build up their own collection of hundreds of r99 items though so having a group of other people around is the only alternative to that if they're hoping to have a decent chance of completing the quests.

Agreed but it's insanely rare that anyone like that makes it far. Since the people who have most r99s don't share, they're not going to be in that group.

Shame you can't see the total value of search results in the item database...Anyone want to hazard a guess at the rough cost of buying up almost every r99 in the game? Gotta be in the billions...I guess if you manage to save up a cpl of billion NP you might as well find something to do with it...

No one typically buys them all. You basically just accept the fact that if you get asked for BGC, T-Tear, BS-Stamp, SS-Stamp, Snowbunny-Stamp, or any of the >50M NP r99s, you're probably just going to fail the quest and try again later.
