Other than a trophy downgrade, how are you sure that it was a compromised account that caused this?

I didn't log into my account at all and when I saw my account it said last spotted under one days ago and all my pets are happy.

If that is all it might just be neopets downgrading your trophy for whatever reason, do you have any other solid evidence you were hacked?

This was my immediate reaction.
But nah, just reclaim it. It's not like whoever's in the account can actually do anything to you just because you logged in. Worst case scenario, the password and email are already changed.

That's a pretty bad "worse-case-scenario."

But it's still nothing to be frightened of, because if it's reached that point, then trying to log in won't make things worse.

Trophies can never be downgraded, I have gotten gold in previous months, gotten sliver in the following months and the trophies on my lookup are still gold=/

using internet explorer when it happened didn't realize it saves deleted cache.
