I'm not a vengeful person, really.

How do you do revenge? Subtle? Physical?

Do you do it over petty stuff or when they really deserve it?

How long do you hold a grudge?

I still hold grudges from elementary school (I'm in high school right now, so nearly 10 years now). I have one from when a girl hit me over the head with a large branch that had fallen off a tree in a windstorm (plus she had been a complete bitch to me since 1st grade. Always left me out because I wasn't part of her 3 friends group no one else could get into, called me horrible names and basically was my elementary school bully). And one from a girl who I just hard back from Sunday school. Each has been going strong for 10 years now.

It'd hard to earn my friendship and easy to lose. If you lose it in a way that makes me hate you completely (instead of just dislike), you're susceptible to having a grudge held on you for years.

Revenge, though, I just think about in my head, and plan it out. I never have (yet) acted on an revenges I want to do. (If revenges is the right word...or if its even a word).

Because of being burned, I now dislike people (depending) and find it hard to make any friends, and I prefer to be alone rather than risk the possiblty of being burned again. I will admit, I haven't been an angel either. I've made a boy cry by repeatedly slapping him. then once refused to allow a strike on a bowling game that was from them cleaning the lane (but that was because that person was completely oversentisve, she once threw a desk at someone in class. So not really my fault there).

My parents (mainly my mother), dont understand that I don't like people all that much because I've been burned to many times. (Espicaly after all the bullying I went through in middle school). I'm not anti-social, I'm introverted. *sigh*

I'm pretty introverted too, but I just fantasize a little and then I'm over it... Usually. How do you decide where the line is between 'they deserved it' and 'too far'?

Mmmnnn, I don't really do the revenge/grudge thing unless it's REALLY reeaaally bad. It seems like a waste of time holding onto negative feelings for someone when they're probably going to change over time :0

I think if someone impersonates you and posts child porn everywhere, then pretends he didn't do anything and acts like an asshole towards you then yeah that's enough to hold a grudge over :p

Hmm...I don't believe I've ever crossed the line into "too far", mainly in my mind they deserved it (though if course I'm biased). Though I don't think I even know what "too far" is in the line of revenge. (Getting revenge when someone didn't deserve it? Or the fact that whatever they did is to large for normal revenge, and you need to do something bigger?). I suppose if I don't know what "too far" is, I've either done it without knowing, or didn't do it because I didn't know what it was. Can I get an example of "too far" as it pertains to revenge?

Too far to me means that the revenge outweighed the deed. Like I got shorted a chicken nugget so I drove my car into mcdonalds. Too far.

I think you can rationalize vengeance -- you know, it's natural(ish) to feel furious at someone and want comeuppance, but it's awfully hard to justify it. From an outside perspective, revenge always seems so petty and so aimless.

If someone fucks me over I just pretend like they don't exist. :innocent:

Unless if someone jips me on my chicken nuggets. Then I go into bitch mode. :p

Ah, thanks for clearing that up! I suppose I have crossed the one into "too far" back when I was severely depressed. The boy I made cry by repeatedly slapping him, was back when I severely depressed and I can't even remember what it was for. Most likely because I didn't like something he said to/about me or something he did (petty really), and I slapped him because I was angry and wanted revenge for what he had said/done. (Being severely depressed isn't an excuse though).

When you cross the line into "too far", I see as when you want revenge for simple mistakes and petty things people have done. (Which is what I basically just described as me doing, slapping someone to the point of crying because of a petty thing).

I would agree, I've been told so many times to let go of my grudges and forgive people, but to me my revenge is justifiable. But to them they can't see why it is to me. (It's really hard for me to let to of grudges and forgive people for anything, after being burned one too many times)

Of course it depends on what has been done to you. I can get angry pretty fast but I don't hold grudges. Then again I'm very cautious whom I trust and I haven't been severely betrayed yet.

In the end you're just hurting yourself by holding a grudge because that other person who you hate so much has forgotten about it long ago and the one who suffers from the consequences is only yourself. The best thing you can do is not give a damn. Or pour a bucket full of cockroaches into their apartment and THEN forget about it.

They don't know I know what they did. To be totally fair, a couple of them don' know they did anything wrong. I'm more concerned with the ones that did.

They don't know I know what they did.

That's good. Because if "accidentally" something bad happens to them they'll never know it was you.

    She isn't the bee's knees.

Anyways, I've never really tried to get revenge on anyone. A bunch of people upset me, but I just vent into a word document or to a friend and get over it. Why waste the energy elsewhere?
