Hello, I'm relatively new here and decided to go ahead and introduce myself today. Not exactly sure if there's a "right" way to go about introductions, I suppose that would have to do with what your perspective dictates as socially acceptable, so I'm just going to wing it per say and be open and honest about myself. My name is Tyler and I've been playing Neopets for a little bit over 9 years. I've played off and on after my first account was frozen but had recently become active again after a long hiatus. I was lucky in that my guild was still active and hadnt kicked me during my absence. They warmly welcomed me back, and i began getting reacquainted with the site. My main activities on Neo are the Battledome and chatting with people, mostly guild members.

I discovered this site by chance when trying to look up a guide for restocking. Initially i had hoped to try to use Abrosia to help kickstart my account back to where it was when i was originally frozen. I became and advanced member and read over many guides and precautions before deciding to use the program. Long story short i restocked stamps for a month then got frozen after buying a morphing potion. Im very upset over the loss of my account as i had over 200mil, a well trained pet and many trophies and avatars i wont be seeing again (as well as alot of NC items)...this was also kinda my escape from my real world problems involving depression and anxiety.

As for who I am as a person, I generally have a lot to say about any given topic though much more so on things i am particularly passionate about or intrigued by. I try to articulate myself as well as possible to avoid misconceptions and misunderstands as well as to convey my thoughts/emotions in a way that hopefully reflects how I feel about them. I am open minded to listening to and considering the opinions of others but at the same time adhere to my own philosophies. I dont believe in "inherent truths" when it comes to people and the way we interpret one another as we live in a world where there are many people with different perspectives, each holding its own unique "truths" so to speak, to its owner. "Truths" crafted through a variety of influences throughout that persons life such as family, peer group, social media and life experiences (etc).

Anyhow, my own life has been a myriad of different experiences, too many to post in an introduction, but you could say that im a person who has suffered a great deal since a very young age but has gained knowlegde and experience that i would otherwise be without had my life been more "pleasant". As far as interests go I like (wait for it...) Neopets, WoW (though i havent played in awhile), other video games (usually console games), Anime (kind of a broad spectrum to write down as I dont like "all anime" just like i dont like "all videogames"...but as it goes anime is usually listed as a seperate medium from other entertainment...and sometimes carries an unfortunately negative stigma), drawing, reading, TV, and talking/hanging out with friends/people.

Not quite a wall, considering i added paragraph breaks. Besides, im introducing myself, i wanted to make it something at least slightly meaningful beyond the usual "hi, my name is x and i like y, nice to meet you." I dont have to argue though, this is just the way I speak to others, i find it palatable and enjoy getting to know someone beyond the usual greetings.

    I certainly hope so!

What are your thoughts so far on the current battledome?

Well, in a nutshell, it could certainly use some improvement. Certain glitches need to be ironed out (such as stealers and reflectors not working, etc). Faerie abilities need to be better balanced especially in regards to 2p. Some abilities are overpowered and some abilities are completely useless (some because they are outclassed by another asbility in the same tier and some because they just arent very good). Having both Warlocks Wrath, Lens Flare and a freezer just doesnt seem fair. Reflect and Rejuvenate need to be toned down a bit also i believe. Healing fire is terrible both as a level 300 ability and in comparison to the rest of its tier, it could be moved down to a level 25 or 50 ability (which is where a 25hp heal would be useful). I like the idea of the new faerie abilities but i think they could have implemented it better, perhaps put in some more defensive abilities. nothing overpowered, but stuff that could serve the same purpose as a dual duty or help plugging more holes in ones defense. Once a day abilities are also just not practical imo, make them once per battle or give them a cool down.

As far as the state of the BD meta (regarding weapons and shields and such), i have less knowledge but still an opinion. Fire has essentially become the new air and dark has become incredibly easy to block. Ive heard alot of people saying that shields are underpowered in the BD right now but havent done enough high level 2p battling to personally have an opinion on the matter. TNT has gotten a bit better with closing the gap between extreme budget battling and HT level sets with inexpensive 11 and 13 iconers as well as a few good inexpensive full blockers. Theres still a pretty big gap between getting a 13 iconer and an anagram sword though, and an even bigger gap for when you want to go beyond HT weapons and into the Suap/WotDF level of battling. I suppose thats part of the process of going up the ladder so to speak though (and what a long ladder it is). Im enjoying getting free codestones and nerkmids (when i was premium) from battling but am hoping theyll return the HP increase as an option so that both progressive and casual battlers can be satisfied.

I read the whole thing, too. Something doesn't add up for me, though.

Don't most of the guides warn you to stay out of magic? *eyes you suspiciously*

Anyhoo. Welcome. Hope to see you around.

Yes, they do, but i thought i could get away with it if i just bought 1 thing on 1 day. It surprises me, becuase even Abrosia was missing most of the items, makes me wonder how people can legitly RS there without robot hands and a flawless internet connection. Like really, this baffles me.
