2nd call in 2 days.

Here we go...

All him:

"hello, is that Mr. Kevin" (as you can probably guess, not my surname)

"I'm calling from world wide web server technical support, because you are using genuine windows (am I fuck) we can see you are getting an error messages sent to us"

"40% of your programs are not working"

"oh you're using windows 8" (No idea what windows 8 is)

"press the windows key, it's at the bottom left, next to which key, that's right the alt key" (by now I'd have hit him if this was in person)

"can you see search, programs and run?" (reinforcing my thoughts he knows nothing about windows 8)

ME: "no, windows 8 has a quickstart screen instead of a start menu"

Him "Oh..." *hangs up*

Wish I was still on windows 7 :( meant I could play for longer

Next time you should say that you work for world wide web server technical management.

Sounds good, but it ends the conversation quickly, telling them your laptop's on fire and has bluescreened because of what they're telling you to do is always fun :p

I've never even had one of those calls, it's very disappointing. :/

My parents received one of those calls recently, thankfully my old man isn't clueless about computers so he gave them the run around too before abusing them for trying to fuck him over and hung up lol.

It does my head in. Especially as my grandmother has a computer and uses it for shopping. She got caught once, I told her to ignore them from now on. It's always a lot more fun when I'm there and she gets a call. She finds it hilarious.
