Back when I was young and penurious, I loved the neoboards. I used to spend 50%+ of my time chatting at the HC or PC.

 

Now, though, I find the boards tiring and annoying to chat on. I honestly can't tell why. The people I chat with aren't mean, horrible or jealous. It's not that the HC is far less active than it was years. I find myself avoiding the boards altogether. On the other hand, I adore this forum, just as I love chatting on forums in general. Which is why I can't figure out what it is about the Neoboards that repels me.

Disregarding the HC, though, the PC is actually pretty full of really jealous people.... And the amount of ass-kissing that goes on there isn't even funny.
 

Anyway, do you chat on Neo? Do you like the community, and do you have Neofriends? Which is your favourite board?

I used to be a very active user of the portuguese HC and AC to do my lendings. It was the best PT board, anyway. Until TNT decided to ban chats and froze all those who decided to continue. I was one of them.

Since then I decided to avoid all boards.

 

I continue to lurk, however, like I always did.

I hate the PC, both PT an EN. The drama, the ass-kissers, all that jealousy. Just uargh 

 

The fact is, boards are not what they used to be. Sadly, in many ways.

Noob, aren't noobs anymore, just stupid people trying too much to be funny.

Specially in PT boards I feel like people are always try to please everybody, with their false "omg ily so much and ur my bestie -even tho i just met you-" or showing how good they are (they're always better than anyone else); or praying their false moralism when all they have is gain with cheating (oh, all the people that a couple of years had nothing and now are ADORED by everyone because of their trophies. If people only knew who their idols were back in the day...).

 

Or maybe I just feel like this because I'm anti-social and I hate people. 

 

 

And yes, I find neocodex boards more "cozy". lol Here at least I can talk with normal people.

Due to all the drama yesterday in the PC, people are so overly dramatic and idiotic. I agree on most of what this person said.

I used to frequent the HC years ago when it was a lot more active. Since then, I try to steer clear of it as much as possible. Even then, people were rude and obnoxious on an astounding level; they seem to be just as bad if not even more so now.

I'd find the game just as enjoyable to play if the boards disappeared tomorrow. They no longer have any bearing to me or my pleasure of being on the site.

Particularly in the PC and the trading boards, I think neopets users are some of the most reviling people I've had the displeasure of seeing on the internet. They're selfish, easily offended, vastly stupid, and awfully arrogant. It's quite nice to be referenced in passing as a cheater

I don't think I've had any problems really with the HC. Except some people suggest things that are probably not the issue. Or the answer is: send a ticket.

PC- lol just I stopped after I got a few dreamies. Underoffers annoy me ;/

I usually am in the NCC. I'm very addicted to NC (toned it down ALOT) but its just frustertaing. There's not too many new people so your kinda forced to trade with certain people over and over again. Its really just a giant click...with money. Oh! It's like Highschool or something. I have neofriends but I don't actually talk to them. I don't even know some of them. XD

When I was a newbie at neopets (~10 years ago) the words "we can tell how people are in real world by their actions on the internet when dealing with mere pixels"  were very common on pt boards but didn't make much sense to me since I didn't have much experience with internet.

In the last years, neopets boards gave all sense to those words.

I have no idea what they're going to do tomorrow. If I were a hacker/bug abuser and had extreme beef with some people, I'd take several of my lutari morphing potions, and send a potion to each person I had, morph, then abandon that one morphed pet each of them loves. Then I'd use a score sender to SS a score of 301 on Fashion Fever on each account and wait for the drama from two boards pop up. Self-freezing their accounts is too much of a mercy action. But that's just malicious me. Who knows what they'll do.

 

Was HB really that bad? I never though a board of unloading stuff away would be really bad and dramatic.

I can't say I care for how report-happy seem to be on there either tho concerning...a couple of issues.

 

I prefer the BD and Art Chat from time to time. Much slower paced. Drama still explodes but it's a fairly rare occasion when that happens.

I'm mostly a lurker on the neoboards these days, to be honest.  I used to chat on them pretty frequently, but they seem to have really gone downhill from where they were a couple of years ago.  Just reading through this forum in the past 10 minutes has been more interesting than anything I've read on the neoboards in the past month.

I tend to avoid boards like PC and Avatar, just because they're so oversaturated with lending and trading topics. But even the others neoboards are hard to hold discussions on.

There's drama (you said rare, but even so) in the Art Chat? I've only started lurking there recently, but haven't seen much.

When drama breaks out, what are the users usually bitching about? (Is art theft still common on Neopets?)

So true    I saw a couple of people try to start Draw & Chat boards, but they didn't do well. Not enough responders / too many people fishing for compliments / trying to get free art.
