I would think the transferring would get you iced quicker than the buying would.

 

Second this. I have no problems transferring items that you can buy through the Hidden Tower but transferring stamps and MPs seem to have a higher priority on the "Red Flag Meter".

Hidden Tower items have always had a higher freeze rate on transfers. You can usually get by on one or two but you move 3+ and you can kiss the account goodbye.

I have transferred a bunch of abed items to a storage account and while the ab account got frozen the next day, the storage account is still fine 8 months later. I just used tp and different ip addresses.
