I know of another one that uses it. But I can't exactly advertise a competitor forum.
We're just ahead of the game that's all. Does it really hurt you to have it? Just disable it in your notifications if it's such an issue

People are allowed their opinion and don't have to utilise it if they don't wish to. I think its a great addition.
