I was curious. What do you people knwo about Morocco ? How do you view the country ?

 

I'm from it and I wonder how it is viewed by others.

My first thought is of the Polisario Front, but only because I read about it a few days ago.

 

Next association that comes to mind is Casablanca.

Well I can talk about Polisario.

Or tell you that the hats are not worn that often anymore

I think of it as a combination Mediterranean resort and desert wasteland, where you are equally likely to see hashish bricks or camels on the side of the road, maybe even in combination.

I've never been, myself. Morocco doesn't show up in current events that often. The last time I can recall hearing the country mentioned was in Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 movie. Morocco was a part of the "Coalition of the Willing" that backed the US invasion of Afghanistan. To be fair though, they didn't want to really get involved. They did not offer to send troops, but they did offer to send trained monkeys to clear minefields.

Honestly, you lucked out. I could say I know a lot more about Morocco than, say, Equatorial Guinea or Angola.

uhh not much but i know its a muslim country somewhere in africa. it doesn't come up in the news very much.

Yes it is indeed in Africa.

And no ti's not a desert wasteland and mediterranean resort More like a bunch of different landscapes : mountains, green valley, ocean, sea and a little bit of desert.

Well glad we don't make the news often, but when it is spoken of Morocco it's because they did something stupid...again. (Like marry a 16 year old girl to her rapist.. great move )
