You can try prezi. I used it for school once, and it's quite a bit better than powerpoint. It's free too. Prezi is basically an animated presentation, which uses what it calls a "virtual canvas".

    Here's a get started guide.

    Prezi is tacky.

    Make a video presentation.

I agree with Sweeney. You already have the video editting software on your laptop. Just do a video presentation.

Powerpoint. You're not going to get graded on how 'AWESOME' the project looks.

I think we are graded on how awesome our presentations looks.   Good artwork and flashy graphics win over content every time.   A combination of a big three panel display with a powerpoint are always great.

P.S.  How are you going to stop terrorism.  All my latest project was a big Olmec modeled head, with a three panel posture behind it, and a couple of daddy's 20 centavos coins for the wow factor.

This is not how presentations should be graded. It should be mostly based on the content, with a portion related to "Speaking and Listening" skills sized according to how much of a focus those skills are in this assessment. The physical presentation should be a minor consideration, if any, beyond basic grammar and spelling.

If your teachers did not grade in this way, I'm sorry you had a lacking school experience.

If you can't get PowerPoint then using Google Docs might be an easier solution.

Yeah, there's probably a free trial or something so you don't have to buy it too.

So is this being graded in the British colour or in American flashbang?  The difference between an B and an A is presentation.

Not if you have a competent assessor.

    Easy to do and cheap

Oh and just meeting the minimum requirements should guarantee you a good grade so you don't need anything fancy.

Not exactly. I stupidly forgot to send myself my PowerPoint the day of a presentation, and I had to improvise. Open up the website and talk about it without having a cute presentation in the background. I still did great and only was docked points because she wanted me to add some info before I turned my paper in. PowerPoints don't always matter.

Emily, that has not been my experience with my teachers this year.  I'm getting upset because I'm getting help with most of the "flash".  My mom is a little crazy about my grades.   I do the paper and she does the flash.   Why do teachers not see what is painfully obvious to students.

Many teachers do see what is "painfully obvious" to students. More often, it is the students who do not see what is "painfully obvious" to the teachers.

But he might get points for originality.
