Hey guys,

Was just wondering if this would work instead of a proxy or a vpn to hide from the TNT hammer?

If so is anyone using it?

I dont know alot about it, sorry if this seems like a silly question.

I

don't even

Your ip would be different after every request. The latency will make it impossible to buy anything.

I don't really know much either, but theoretically it seems like it should work? I would just be worried about the latency and how you would appear to be using multiple IPs very often. Don't know how safe the latter is.

//ninja'd :(

Yeah i was a little unsure about latency, maybe there is a way to configure it to run better?

I just downloaded it on to a VM i spun up to have a look but im a bit hesitant to try anything.

Your best bet is to use an Amazon EC2 instance.

Shrouded made a good guide here - give that a look and see if it suits you better. TOR network is just God awful and just no :p

Never even heard of EC2, i will do a little bit of reading on it.

so you think i could use this on multiple VMs without the use of proxies/vpns and not worry about latency?

If so, why isnt everyone doing this?!

You can use Abrosia on each individual EC2 Instance (which is a virtual machine) without the use of proxies. The IP addresses will be completely different from each other. Much like yourself, not everyone knows about the amazon EC2 instances. I and a few others on the site have been using them for a long time now and have made a vast amount of profit. The Eastern servers have a great latency to TNT's servers and are able to communicate with them quickly, resulting in fast buy times.

haha ive literally just seen that they are actually VMs.

This is sounding interesting!

Am i right in saying that they come pre configured with a selected OS?

If so what one would you recommend?

Ive been using xp on mine as my laptop is a pile of crap and it cant handle much more than that!

Linux maybe?

This all sounds nice... but you need a valid credit card to even use it which I don't have :( But have fun screwing over everyone else on Neopets :D

Credit card, or debit?

I have a debit card, but i steer clear of credit lol.

You can use a credit or debit card. The card is used mostly for verification, but also used to charge you in case you go over your alloted bandwidth each month, I have mine running 24/7 and the most I've ever been charged was $.83 (83 CENTS).

Yes you have the choice of Linux (this might be a paid tier OS), Windows 7 or XP. In my experience, the XP version seems to run a little more smoothly compared to the W7 instance. If your laptop is shitty, I'd suggest just leaving xp on it to run these VMs even though they won't take up many resources.

Yeah i thought as much, where are you based?

I'm over in the UK, wont this affect the set up and possibly the amount of data i will be using... i dont want some horrific charge lol.

The exchange of data between your computer (in the UK) and the instance won't matter. It's the exchange of data between the instance and what you do on it that does matter. I'm in the U.S but that won't make much of a difference.

I'm off to work now, so I'll check back in a few hours.

But I am wondering how would one connect Abrosia to Tor? Can't seem to find a simple answer through google, though that might just be me being lazy :p

Very good point lol.

its just web based i assume?

I was quiet excited by the idea and obliviously didnt think it through.

Now i am really excited about EC2...and slightly confused haha.

Update:

I have a running VM (server 2008) through EC2 now. So thats pretty cool...

I have read through the guide Adam posted and the tips at the end but some more info on this would be great!

like;

  • Each micro instance can run 2 program managers  - so abrosia x 2? (wouldnt that look suspect coming from the same micro instance?)
  • Every AA shell is different. Some can buy significantly faster than others so try a bunch until you get a good one with buys <250ms.
  • U.S. East servers give the best ping to TnT servers.
  • You can Right Click -> Terminate an instance. This lets you restart a new instance with a totally different IP. - I dont understand this too well.. so any explanation on this would be really helpful!)
  • You can close the remote desktop and the program manager will still be running. - and with this, kinda makes sense. lol.

I'm sorry if i sound like a complete noob but would rather get it right first time!

Cheers guys.

You can run multiple abrosias on one instance as long as one the extra ones are run with a proxy.
You pretty much answered your own questions correctly.

ITS 730AM here, ive been working *cough* all night haha.

thank you though.

One last thing, every web page i visit with this VM im getting security alerts?!

and its REALLLLLLY annoying?! Can i just turn them off?

Ohhh and what would be the benefit of this:

Cheers adam! and sorry! lol

Change your security settings in Internet options and then download chrome.

In case you get frozen you would want to terminate your instance and start a new one with a fresh IP.

Are the any alternatives to EC that are free and comparable?

I think vps.me offers free VPS but I've never tried them so I can't say if they're comparable.

So I have been auto buying with the settings recommend in the guide for the AA. All set to 0.0001 and in 4 hours didn't see a thing?

Also i know using those setting normal abing would be a pretty much instant ban. Do I take it I can't use those AA settings for main shops?
