I think that none of us have any right to question what someone else does with their money or body. Isn't spending your money on buying a tattoo the same as spending your money on buying weed? It's your money, your body, your choice. It'd be hypocritical to look down on someone else for something you do yourself.

Everybody has the "right" to question what other people do. Just as everybody has the right to do what they want.

Of course, you don't have to justify your choices to anyone, not even yourself. But if you can't justify your choices (to yourself, if no one else), then it may be worth thinking a little harder about why you're making those choices, either to analyse your motivations or to change your mind entirely.

I don't see why that's any of your concern anyway, guys. You don't know her from a hole in the ground.
Apparently married moms can't have tattoos?  :lol2:

Why can't I be skeptical of someone's lifestyle if I want? I'm not judging anybody for choosing to get married at a young age, or have children, or spend their money on tattoos. Obviously it wouldn't be unheard of, but when you combine all of those factors with the fact that she's choosing to share all of this personal information as a brand new member of the forum, it just seems far-fetched. I also think it's unrealistic to expect to be able to get a very painful, expensive piece shortly after giving birth, while having to care for a newborn and pay the expenses that come along with being a parent. You may disagree, and that's fine. People do and will continue to judge me for my own choices, and that's also fine.

I do not personally have any tattoos yet because I'm extremely indecisive, but I would like to get a few at some point. I love abstract, painterly, and geometric tattoos.

I still stand by what I said. You don't know her circumstances or her income/her husband's income. I just felt like the question was a lot more judgmental than perhaps you meant for it to be, considering her marital status and age have very little to do with her income or choice to have children or get tattoos. Why even bring that up? You know what I mean? Also speaking from experience, healing after birth is not that excruciating. Do I think she will be in a lot of pain with such a large tattoo? Sure. That's her choice though, right?

Let me get this straight. You're 19, you're married, you're expecting a baby in August, and you're planning on getting a full back tattoo (that will cost around 2k) the same month?

Let me get this straight.. You have no idea what i do for a living, you have no idea what my husband does for a living, and you have no idea what i am planning to do but you want to jump down my throat like your some kinda of perfect angel no lets not pretend here ok im sorry but this might be online but its still reality...  What i do with my money is what ever i want to do with it ok... I been married for about a year since i was 18 and now i am almost 20... WHO CARES if i married early and am having a baby at 19 we both thought long about  it  before we were like lets have a baby and we can  give it the things he or she needs and wants  so just no stop and im not planning on getting the whole tattoo at once. After the baby is born and i am done breastfeeding him or her i will go in and get the outline drawn up on the back and as time goes i will get it filled in

    :lol2:

    Welp...
    There you have it.

Also, speaking of babies and tattoos, after this child is born I'll have to get another one. I don't have to but I feel like I have to, since I have my other kiddos tattooed.
I want something similar to theirs or to somehow incorporate the new baby into the current tattoo.

    Edit:

since I have my other kiddos tattooed.

Their names, on my arm, that is. They don't have tattoos XD

I get the impression you're taking this personally. Regardless of what I know or do not know about anyone, I am obviously entitled to my opinion, and I shouldn't even have to state that. However, I apologize for saying anything in the first place, as it was off topic.

And I wasn't talking about the pain of childbirth, but the tattoo, just for clarification.

Well, anyone would take it personally if they were in pretty near the exact same situation as her around the same age. It's not like you questioned something unique to her.
So I have no problem admitting I was offended by your comments. You certainly are entitled to your opinion, and I'm entitled to tell you I think you're wrong :)
    I guess that's that then.

Age, marital status and income should have nothing to do with choosing to have children?

Age and income certainly do. But in 2014, marital status definitely doesn't.

However, that wasn't what I was implying anyway. What I meant was that those things combined, as Trich had mentioned, are not relevant to tattoos.

I don't think it's unreasonable to question someone's choice to spend a huge amount of money on something like a tattoo immediately after having a child. Especially considering income, which can be strongly predicted by age and marital status (as well as the ability to form complete sentences).

Sure, but I think it's unreasonable and inappropriate to question a complete stranger.
Perhaps if the OP had said somewhere that she had poor finances, I may have not replied to Trich at all, because at that point I'd think Trich was asking from a genuine place, concern.
However, the OP hasn't indicated that she has any financial issues, she's implied the opposite actually. So in my opinion, it's no one's place to question her. I'm not really going to budge on that :p Sorry.

I'd say that it's far more presumptuous to imply that Trich posted only to be rude than it is to question the wisdom of a decision that could negatively impact a child, but thanks for your opinion.

Taking neocodex seriously is not the same thing as making sense.

Ad hominem attacks don't win arguments with anyone but degenerates.

"You're an idiot." <<< feels superior
"No, you are!" <<< feels they've won the argument
