Has there been any crack in the algorithm of how the shops restock?

There's been plenty in the Attic, but has anyone got an in depth idea of the main shops?

Is it not just related to how quickly people empty the shops? Or are they forced restocks?

As to what I've noticed while solo restocking/clearing shops w/o ABing, it seems to be just random no matter what.

I would imagine that the likelihood of a shop restocking is based on a) how many items remain in the shop, and b) how long it has been since the previous restock. Beyond that, it is almost certainly based on a random (or unpredictable pseudo-random) system.

It's random, but some shops refresh faster than others. I suspect TNT uses a base value and adds a random number to it to determine the refresh. Clearing doesn't make the shop restock faster, it just makes it more likely a good item will restock (because more items are restocked each time)

It's not true that no matter what more items will restock. There are often restocks of only 2-3 items. It allows more possible ones to be restocked though. But often it will only restock 4-5 items. On HPD, since a lot of shops have zero stock when restocked they will fill up to 10-16 items because it's trying to fill to max capacity.

-More restocks occurr when <20 items are in the shop

-Average restock is every 8 minutes

-It is random, there are no known patterns

-r99's tend to stock more when there are <10 items in shop

That's all I've come to known about main shops in the 10 years I've played :p

 B. could be wrong because I've seen Igloo restock about 1 minute after it already restocked.

But A. is pretty valid.

  1. Can shops really restock 10-16 items at once to fill up? Or over multiple restocks?
  2. I once saw Chocolate Factory empty out completely - was this someone clearing it or can shops actually remove items themselves?
  3. Is there any confirmation that # of items depends on inventory? Can't they just always stock 4-5 limited only by the 24-max? Do different shops restock different #?

Quit gravedigging old threads @BEDDOEDv. I've let it go up until now but if you keep doing so I will need to start issuing warnings I'm afraid. Your reply added nothing to the discussion either.
