 Coloring outside the lines can be taken as tacky (at least I see it that way), and it may not even fit with the rest of the design, basically making coloring outside the lines pretty useless. Just my opinion though, you're welcome to see it another way. 

 

That's because you're not thinking outside the box.

 

I came up with a few ideas right away once the suggestion was made, but I'll work with what I've already got.

You submitted a BLANK entry to me. I don't understand why you're complaining if you weren't taking this contest seriously to begin with.

No worries Trich. I understand your frustration but...as with a few other contests we've been hosting lately, we're making the rules up as we go.

It's really difficult to foresee every little detail that may come up and I'm sorry to hear that this particular change my put people at a disadvantage. That being said, it was never explicitly stated in the rules and everyone is using the same image as a base (that doesn't really have room for much else.)

From what I'm guessing, you're just plagiarizing the original owner of the egg outline by submitting it as is with credit for yourself in mind.

Ah, but was the template designed to serve as a criticism of the meaninglessness of arbitrary rigidity and the over-regimentation of artistic creativity? Was the template itself a subversion of the viewer's and institution's expectations, or was it my repurposing of the "blank" canvas as a statement?
