They'll most likely die out like the rest have done over the last decade.
And Codex is like a slowly moving tortoise that will outlive everything else, ha!

I think it's inevitable. Neo seems to be slowly dying, so it's only natural that Cheat programs would too.

And our programming...Our least active members do our advertising? Oh god...

Tell me about it!!
Must be better down your end. It's cheap shit here, plain vanity.
I remember when that show debuted on CBS. I never thought it would get popular.

Yeah, I agree that the moderation and security of Codex will see it through, but if Neo disappears, so will Codex, right? I mean, while I've enjoyed coming back from my hiatus 2/3 months ago, something feels like it's missing from Neo? I dunno?

No doubt they will, but it'll be good for us if we take the things they're doing right and adapt them into our business model.
We have to an extent already. The new Gaming section, even though people may not realize it, is a huuuuuge step in the right direction for Codex.
Branching away from strictly Neopets programs is going to be huge for us and provide a wider range of opportunities for you programmers to get involved too, on top of potentially bringing in new users who play those games rather than Neopets.
IT MAKES ME SO EXCITED!!

The easy solution to that would be migrating to other games or expanding to cover a wider range of games. Something we seem to be slowly evolving towards.

Not at all. We have a well established community that I think would survive the death of Neopets IF that were to actually happen.

I don't want to profile, but only the plebs watch it down here. I mean, what is so interesting about watching people act like... people? They eat, shit and drink. What do they do that I don't?

Let's talk about our favourite pizza.
A guy I used to work with would occasionally bring in chicken francaise pizza. It was sooooo good.

No, because we're taking the necessary steps to ensure that Neopets is not the soul focus of Neocodex (IE. The new gaming section)

We're picking up FR right now and who knows what else. There will always be a niche for programs for browser games. I also don't think Neopets is going to die so soon.

Oh, yeah, sorry, I meant the whole 'cheats' aspect of Codex - but I do love you guys, so I'll be around forever, and ever! :3
I dunno, once Neo dies I don't think I'll move on to other games. I only came back to it because I'm extremely sentimental.
I think I'd probably explore the outside world a little more. xD

Not so soon, but it seems to be regressing, yeah? I mean, our generation seems to be a large majority of those who play it.

I really love browser games and for the most part I'll play any of them to some extent but some bore me faster than others.
Some of the ones I like are FlightRising, PowerPets, and GPXplus.
Are there any other really popular browser based games though that aren't a Neopets/pet site?
Posted 04 May 2014 - 05:35 AM
It's worth mentioning this isn't the first time we've branched out into other games.
Over the years we've supported and had programs for a number of different games - I think LPC was probably the biggest, probably due to it being a very simple browser game similar to Neopets.
Regardless of this though, the addition of a gaming section for other games *is* good, but programming a cheat for Neopets is significantly different from programming a hack for a blizzard game for example. I think Flight Rising will be the only one of these new games to get any programming attention, and that's probably down to the fact that it is a browser game like Neopets.
Still... small steps in the right direction.
We'll still *hopefully* have the blackmarket aspect too though, with a pretty trustworthy trading community.

Considering that they just sold Neopets to JumpStart I'd say Neopets still has some life in it. Even if digressed I think it'll stick around for years to come.

I used to be really into Avatar sites like Ernya, Crysandrea, Gaia, Solia, and the list goes on..
RPing and creating OCs ;u; I miss it.

It has been dying for a long time now xD
In fact, the offtopic section here is huge. A lot of users here don't even play Neopets that much and it still works out. Activity here isn't so high on non 100 post days but it's been getting better lately ^^

I actually prefer the 'community' aspect here as opposed to playing Neo solo. Otherwise, I'd just take the Program Manager and do a runner
*hugs Codex*

I played Gaia briefly. I couldn't get into all the people humping eachother in that chat game.

Lol yeah the key to Gaia is really knowing where to hang out. I never went in the "towns".
I liked gambling in the user-run casinos, buying art of my OCs, and RPing. Now I just buy art the few times I visit.

See I remember I'd tried RPing but people were either WAY too serious or not serious enough about it.
I remember people I was RPing with had like "families" and stuff.
