See I remember I'd tried RPing but people were either WAY too serious or not serious enough about it.
I remember people I was RPing with had like "families" and stuff.
Haha can't say I've had that happen yet.
I didn't RP with my avatar though.. I used the forums. I'd use my avatar as a base to develop a character's appearance and have an artist draw it out, then use my character profile for whichever RP. I don't have the imagination for RP these days.

I feel like I could really get into a RP but I'd prefer a RP forum game like the one we had here with the Roll to Dodge game over a standard RP/

I haven't RPed since I frequented Harry Potter AOL chatrooms when I was like 11.
I also may or may not have belonged to a few HP guilds on Neopets.
