I made Cristen and the girls the legendary British delicacy of beans on toast the other day. She and I even had ours with marmite on the toast, and I dashed a generous amount of Worcestershire sauce into the beans.
Flawless.

Why wouldn't we be? She had no intention to insult anyone.
I know. I'm just used to forums where no one can say anything, even with good intentions.
I'm new, didn't know if I would be allowed to say it so erred on the side of caution.

I think I have everything to make this already. You guys are pretty lax with your language around here lol.
Anyway, yes. Get a bunch of offal; heart, liver, etc. usually pork but a variety of meat is better, mince it. Wrap it in breadcrumbs, onion, herbs and spices. Roll them into balls, then wrap the balls with caul (it's a membrane that's wrapped around the organs) then bake it.
Quick and easy.

I don't know anyone else who would have a variety of offal on hand.

If you're in America you can go to the local grocery store and buy Patak's curry paste, if you class that as British food. Chicken vindaloo if you like spicy and chicken tikka masala if you prefer mild.

IKR Sweeney, also when a flavour is labelled 'hot' or 'mild', how is mild a flavour?

We have those bottles here too. I think they're for people who don't know how to make a curry from scratch.
Never as good with those things.

I brought home one of my host moms' recipe for curry, but my (biological) mother could never figure out how to make it. *sigh*
I wish I could contribute more to this conversation, but I feel like I had some very normal stuff in Ireland (for me, anyway). Other than curry...I'd never had curry and once I tried it, I ate it anywhere there was that had it. ![]()
I guess the fact that the next words out of my fingertips are "I feel like I spent more time trying different kinds of alcohol" screams "I was seventeen when I went to Ireland and boy, are some people lax when it comes to carding!"
My favorite "foreign imports" are Nutella and Tim Horton's. <3

Weeell, I didn't specify whether I was in the Republic or Northern Ireland, and NI is part of the UK, so...one could argue...

I love beans on toast.
Actually.
Beans, toast, one white pudding (soz Brits), a fried egg, and fried potato. ...And mushrooms and tomatoes if I'm feeling extra fancy.

Does it taste like black pudding? Never had it.

Yeah, they're quite similar! I always find that black pudding is much more dry than white pudding, though. I wouldn't even try it when I first came to Ireland 6 years ago, now I love it!
