So, especially for Magic Stuff, what would the best time of the day be to buy?  Also, where should I AB when it's half price day?

I find that I get the most from the magical bookstore during the afternoon.  I'm three hours ahead of Neopets time, so around 9-10am.

Peak hours I'd say. Not sure if it's fact or not, but I've found that restocks happen more often when there's more people online and actually restocking.

Depends. During the afternoon, a lot more people are online which leads to more restocks. However, since there are more people online, your competition increases. At night, there's a lot less people so there's a lot fewer restocks, but your competition is lower. I've found that the afternoon works best for me, and AB during the night tends to end up lackluster.

That's what I've noticed so far.  But, I haven't been ABing long enough to know for sure.  I've had the best luck with bookstores and food stores. The only problem is that nobody wants to buy those things.....

More people on = More people buying = More restocks

During half-price day you want to go to shops with more restocks and lower profit margins.

Why? Because on half price day the lower profit items' profits will grow by a larger factor.

I use the shop pricer but none of my stuff ever actually sells, so now I just have a bunch of random books in my store.

Which sops might that be?  Food shops and book shops?

Well, I AB daily, for at least 6 hours, I just set it and got to work on real life things. As far as shops, I hit all the food shops, and the less popular book shops. Personally, I dont aim for super valuable items, since I throw everything in my shop for regular sale. I think it is pretty safe when you dont target high end stuff, but stick with the normal. You may think no one wants lower priced stuff, but my shop generates 300k-500k daily from just selling regular stuff priced just under wiz (the shop pricer is great for that too!)

On half price day, I hit all of the food shops, book shops, and supplies shops with all of my shells, netting about 2.5k items per account in the space of 8 hours. Again, I avoid the high target shops like magic, stamps, battle ect. Since everything is half priced, no matter what you are gettign a deal and it is a great way to keep your shops full all month for normal generated sales. One bit of advice, dont sell anything for at least 3 days after half price day since the market is usually flooded with cheap prices, and can mess up your margins.

I do take the time to get on one specific account on half price day to AB only high end shops, with high end settings, I do that for 12 hours with a on for 35 minutes off for 35 minute type schedule. That account ususally gets 150-200 items, at least half unbuyable on half price day that I sell slowly all month.

I usually do 2 hours in three different shops because it seems more human-like.  Which is true, back when I restocked without AB, I usually had five or six tabs opened and refreshed in those shops for about an hour.  This works sooo much more.

Food shops restock twice as much as book shops, for the most part. Shops that have a high restock rate with low profit items are food shops, toy, plushie, clothing, and book shops.

How much money would you recommend having saved up in advance for low profit items? Also, how low would you recommend setting the profit margin? My concern is tying up all my NP in slow-moving, low-profit items. My shop isn't particularly large, nor do I have a lot of NP lying around.

I usually AB with about 100k on me. If I am at the Magic shop, about 200-300k.  I only ever get 1 or 2 items there, though...

I was less asking about how much to currently have on you and more about how much you should have in back-up in the bank. I only have about 300k NP to work with, with another ~500k tied up in my shop/TP. Until those things sell I can't very well put their value towards buying bigger, better things. Once your shop gets large enough that you're pulling in ~100k a day in low profit sales it's not an issue, I just don't want to wind up with the remaining 300k sitting around in the form of Medicinal Soap and Acaras in History before I get to that kind of sustainability.

I have about 2m in the bank, but you should have at least 200-300k.  If you have money in your shop, that works too.

The key is to not be greedy.
If you start with 50k, set profit to 2k and then inflate by 0.95 of shop wiz, you can make a decent profit from there to just keep going.
You don't need millions to AB, just a sensible strategy. Take a slight loss is overall profit for the sake of a faster sale. That's my advice.

hopefully this is ok to ask here since its on the same topic- what would be the best time to autobuy for the chocolate avatar? i really want to try to get it but it seems next to impossible, and the chocolate shop restocks so infrequently. has anyone successfully used an ABer to get the avatar and if so around what time NST?

The chocolate shop actually restocks quite frequently but these days its filled with junk alot. I would say clear it and AB at any peak hour on neo. Anytime from 5-9pm NST.

Honestly I've had the most success restocking (legitly) in the morning NST.  Usually around/before/after 9 AM NST.

I think this also might be because the people who leave their ABers on overnight usually get restock banned by that time :p
