I was at the gym, opened up FB and saw it and said out loud "Omg no. Are you serious? What?!"

This man was basically my childhood! One of my favorite comedians.

And the depression just makes you realize, mental illness isn't a game.

Wish he could have gotten the help he needed with his sobriety and depression. :(

Like everyone else, usually celebs dying just gets an "aww" out of me... but Robin Williams. Damn.  Double damn.  He was special.  He deserved more than this.  Depression is a fucking disease, why won't they DO something about it?

    I'm right there with you.

I was listening to music in the car and fighting the urge to cry.

Never thought any celebs death would impact me so much.

    RIP Mrs Doubtfire

Every time I think of another role of movies he's in...

Dang this is really upsetting me. The one guy who's guaranteed to put a smile on your face took his own life? Oh man. I dunno.

Shhh. Obviously the loss of an influential part of millions and millions of peoples' lives is irrelevant because other people are dying in the world. Duh.

No, bi-polar is believed to be a chemical imbalance in the body causing mood swings and extreme reactions. It's not fully understood and it has a huge bearing on someone's social life and work.

Depression is a subtle gradient from kinda sad for a longer period than necessary, to outright devastation that ends in suicide/death.

He always was a bit of a tormented soul. :/ He'll definitely go down in history as one of the greatest comedic actors of his generation though so at least we'll have the films to remember his talent.

Coroner says he was found hanging with his wrists cut. I wonder what the results of the toxicology test will yield. The presence of cocaine wouldn't surprise me as he had struggled with it for ages.

I also found this interesting. Someone created a thread on the IGN forums Friday morning asking people if they were bracing themselves for Robin William's death. It got like 10 replies through Friday morning and the thread died until like 4 yesterday. Since then it is up to 26 pages. Feel free to check it out if you'd like.
