I was able to create some rad themes on windows 8 which makes it a lot better but there are parts of it that just truly suck. It can be forceful about updates, it may be fixed but their was this thing that would give you 15 minutes to save your work before windows would reset for an update and the annoying part was that it didn't give and option to postpone or stop the update from happening. I had to look up a work around and apply it because I wasn't gonna mess up on my work or lose a great score on a game or whatever for no reason. ![]()
Is Windows 8 worth it?

I don't have that issue, I have the opposite. It refused to let me upgrade to 8.1 until yesterday, just straight refused. The option was there and it told me I could, but when I tried, it just wouldn't do it.

Apologies if this is already a thread, I searched and didn't see anything relevant.
I'm thinking casually of replacing my laptop for a better one. Thing is, Windows 8 and I do not get on at all. I've tried using it on my sister's laptop and the touchscreen motions just make no earthly sense to me. Is it worth getting used to? Should I wait til the next version of Windows comes out, or try and stick to 7?
It's not as horrible as the internet makes it out to be, but it definitely takes some getting used to. And I did prefer XP. I never had 7 so I can't give you advice on that, but there are programs (I have ClassicShell) that can give you the Windows 7 start menu, I believe.
