I guess as far as creating a pet is concerned, I'd probably just go with The Oatmeal's "Blerch".

It'd also be a symbol for the American way of life.

 Hmmm and animal that isn't in the game. I'm sure there are creatures that don't resemble any of the current basic colored Neopets! Turtles, bears, deer, worms, pokemon, snails, are just some guesses lol.
