I keep tearing up whenever I see Sia's videoclip for 'The Greatest'

I'm afraid of my little brother and I just don't know how to help him. He has so many problems but one of my biggest fears since having children is introducing him to his nieces. In the back of my mind theres this thought like he's going to shake them or snap them or rip off a limb. I'm not joking, he's a very big dude and he's a monster. He is so unpredictable and he's just so lost. When he was a teen there was a real problem with him living in his own filth. we werent raised together but I feel so much guilt. Like I grew up okay... He was so forgiving despite being bullied relentlessly in every school, very obese, eye problems, bed wetter, very easily influenced, he became a pathological liar, then very violent, he never got a job and all of us tried to help him but he left the apartment we paid for him to live in to be homeless. He posts things I can barely read on fb. like the crudest, most disgusting filth. Shock value stuff, and the language he uses is so much worse than swearing, it's just word choices and content that conjure up the grossest imagery. Anyway he's been homeless for 4 years now, by choice. I still check in with him to give him words of support and I locate nearby shelters anything to help. when his dog was stolen I helped him get her back by combing craigslist and coldcalling kijiji ads until I found someone who was trying to resell her. This dog. is the only thing in the world he has. People have stolen his stuff, raided his camp etc, he had a job for awhile on a construction site so he put all his camping gear, his cot etc in a storage unit and was paying his roomate at the time to pay the storage unit. he gets a call saying they auctioned it all because the roommate never paid. he went into a hospital for awhile because he nearly got hit by a train.. I messaged him on our mom's birthday and asked him why he left town without telling her and if he was mad. she suspected he was or that he was run out of town. I never knew how to bring it up and was afraid he'd cut me off too. Well he says he's been waiting for just over a year for mom to say something to me and for me to ask him. Like no. Dont blame your current situation on us. We can't read your mind and you chose to leave town without speaking to her again. So then he tells me the real story and I'm just broken. I immediately started calling drug addiction services to get him into a program for the winter. His life has been one deep spiral through hell. http://i.imgur.com/4KV81Qe.png WTF!!!!

Thanks for reaching out and asking, really. But it's not about me. I know all these comforts that are just so far removed from his world. His situation was bad before his brain started rotting on this drug. If I cant get him into a drug addiction center he's going to be a threat to the public. I really believe that.

Holiday's can't even be enjoyable anymore. People whine, cry, and complain about every little fucking thing. Social media is full of fuckwits with nothing else to do than ruin everyone else's fun. I've blacklisted so many words from my FB news feed, but I can't stop getting notifications about my friends commenting on stupid ass shit.

I get it these are troubling times, especially with fucking trump as the newly elected leader of the 'free' world. Hate crimes are happening left and right, good people are looked down upon because they lead an 'alternate lifestyle', but not every fucking thing should have a stigma attached to it.

I can't even enjoy Thanksgiving with my family/friends because I should feel ashamed of my CIS white self the things "my people" (huge fucking eyeroll here) did hundreds of years ago. Celebrating fucking Christmas is racist somehow, and lord knows halloween has turned into a giant crap shoot where everyone gets offended. Boy oh boy.

Just like Adam, I can't enjoy the holidays anymore. I can't enjoy a holiday with someone near me saying I shouldn't celebrate a holiday because it's racist or excludes certain people.

 

I also hate the holidays because I'm just not into them anymore. It's all old hat to me now. I hate the songs, I hate the decorations, and I especially hate the store promotions demanding me to buy products so I'll be prepared for a certain holiday.
