I only have my Christian family members friended on my Teaching FB page (and then I have another for Me and my actual friends and people who know how weird I really am... because having a personality can get you fired as a teacher in America.)

I was, for a short period of time in college, hooking up with an older guy because he was giving me money for gas to get there. It was only 30 miles RT, so I was just making money. I never felt dirty and the sex was ok. It was basically my beer money because I was overpaid.

Also, this week is the first time I've ever had the urge to self-harm again. It's been like four years since the last time I hurt myself? I just had so much anger in my stomach I couldn't stand it. I ended up punching a hole through a door that we're gonna remove anyways. I mean, I knew this day would come, eventually I'd slip. I'm okay now. But reflecting on it sucks. Like I've just had so much happening...I don't feel like I've had a break from financial stress, economic stress (not having a car really prevents me from going to school, going to work, etc) and health-related stress. There is only so much one person can handle.

Things might be really shitty right now but they'll get better eventually, you have to try to keep your head above the water and keep swimming against the tide, eventually you'll reach the island right?   It's like they say, for every dark night there's a brighter day, everyone slips up now and then so it's okay, we're only human after all. I went on the mail a spud website and sent my friend a potato. It's annonomus so I had the company put a fake engagement note on it and her boyfriends name. It got to her on Christmas. He wasn't planning on proposing to her.

I'm drowning within myself. It has nothing to do with anyone else, or anything that another person can help me with. But it's hard to go on living a normal life without (figuratively) suffocating and gasping for air. I talked to my brother-in-law, a psychiatrist & epidemiologist, about the situation and he came to the conclusion I have PTSD from an event that took place in my life -- I can't shake what happened, and it haunts me every fucking day. I joke about trigger warnings as a defensive and coping mechanism, but certain words, phrases, and opinions are absolutely devastating to me. The only bright side of this, is that I have an amazing and supportive woman in my life now...if it weren't for her I don't know what I'd do. I hate posting shit like this on Codex now, but I can't put it on facebook, or twitter, and I try to stay away from Tumblr...sorry.

I interviewed for the teaching position, and they basically want me to start Monday (there's some district snafus that might keep me from working for a week or so, thanks winter holiday). I'm terrified. I have a degree in this. I did internships. But I as much as I loved it I hated it (and we don't know how much of that was my evil mentor teacher... who kept reiterating that I wasn't "the teacher" in front of the students, undermining my classroom management). I really only need to survive it 6 months, because then, maternitiy leave, but this is what I decided I wanted to do my whole life. I've always figured it's what I would do. Hell, half my boyfriends (I really did poll them) presumed I would be a teacher, because, I apparently have many traits people associate with Teacher. But what if I am just SOOOO bad at it? What if I really hate it?

I was supposed to hang out with this guy but my aunt has gone way too long without showering and she legit made the hallway smell so I lied and said it was too late for him to come over. I'm so glad I'm making more money so I can save up and get out of here. Her and her son are insufferable.
