I try to type with correct grammar as much as possible but sometimes, things are just funnier when I use slang, usually because I am trying to get person's dialect to come out using text. I am a grammar nazi, when it comes to typing... but in real life face to face, I may not talk with perfect grammar from time to time, but I don't cuss a lot unless I am mad.

I actually have many personalities, so I suppose the way I talk here is one of them. In the real world, I can be shy, brave, lonely, popular, depressed, joyful, etc. all in one day. It's all rather confusing to me

 

That raises a "red flag" where I come from. Make sure you know when to call for help.

I am much more sarcastic online, because people irl often do not get it, which creates very uncomfortable situations..

I take AGES to type in English because I am never really sure if I am saying things correctly, or even in a correct order. *I speak Dutch\Swedish*. When I speak English I very often just end up ranting to try and explain what I ment in the first place.. I dont think it through..at all xD

I do feel like Im pretty much the same person here as in the real world though. Im maybe a bit less judgmental online.

Do you speak the same way you type?

Typing is more refined without a doubt.  It depends on the application, though.  Typing gives you the opportunity to stop, proof read, think about it, and make adjustments accordingly.

 

How similar or different are the two?

My ideas are similar.  It really depends.  Text, by default, misses some inflection that'd make some comments come off as joking better.  I'm rarely very serious, but text can miss the dead-pan or sarcastic responses.

 

It's a whole different beast if I am writing for work (or formerly schoolwork).  My tone changes and I write more professionally, which is to be expected.

 

Do you feel like a different person whenever you type?

All seriousness thought, isn't my keyboard self my real life self if I spend most of my time on the computer?!
