It looks as though a Neopets mobile app is still on the horizon! Evidence from @Neopets twitter account shares-

What that means is still unknown, but it sounds like they're considering a few different paths to go down!

 

If you take a look at Jumpstart's website, you can find two things:

         (1) A lengthy list of iOS and Android apps, showing that Jumpstart can get apps out there. And...

         (2) Under the "COMING SOON" list of games is something called "Ghoul Catchers". Perhaps related to Neopia's very own Ghoul Catchers?

 

And let's not forget in editorial 653 this past summer when TNT said they have been working on a Neopets game app,

Only time will tell!

They kept charging me like three months after the original Lutari Island app shut down... had completely forgotten about it. Had to have it shut off through AT&T at the time. -_-

Do miss it though. Made bank off the Island Exclusive items. Naturally the biggest being the beads.

Been tempted to hunt some down for nostalgia's sake.

The shop discount set would probably break Abrosia though. 

 

Hopefully this new app will allow access to the Island again. 

Couldn't care less about anything else mobile related. lol

Wasn't a mobile version of Suket's Tomb (or however you spell the game like bejeweled) and/or Meccra Chase (the one that's like playing snake) discovered? At least I seem to remember JN posting a while back that they found this stuff.

They have a mobile based scoresending function. And a list of games which I assume they plan to add. The AMFPHP gateway has had the discovery service removed though so I know about the older features. Who knows what else they have added. (probably nothing recently).

Isn't there already an app called Neoexplorer?I don't think it was created by neopets though...

Neoexplorer was fanmade and I think it's just a wrapper for the neopets website kinda like tinfoil for facebook.

 

I wish they worked on a mobile layout before an app - Neopets is a lot more than flash games. Forums and things are still hard to get to with the neoexplorer app since the layout works on a landscape oriented screen.

 

Hopefully when they make the app, Neopets will be a bit more popular (:

They have definitely been working on the mobile app. You can even access some mobile functions through some shadier ways (and find exploitable glitches too)

I wouldn't be upset if you shared your secrets with me

Yeah, we'll probably only have to wait another 15 years for a new working feature like this. I can't believe neopets is still even profitable enough to exist lmao

I think it's all the old ladies/men and their nostalgia. "I remember this...Oh look, clothes! That wasn't here back in my day! Better buy some!" 

Plus, there are people who don't use ad block for whatever reason, so money from ads. That is is people are actually loading enough pages, which usually is really hard because of all the lag.

This is the application I use and tell everyone else to use, who has access to the Google Play Store. It's basically a quick/easy way to do dailies.

 

As for the site itself? I'm amazed it's still holding together as it is. Ever since they sold their soul to Viacom, it's been a long ride down hill. 6+ month average waiting time on ticket support (which is absolutely inexcusable. If you need more staff to look at the amount of tickets, hire more people). If you can't keep your site working like a well oiled machine and not willing to increase staff members, it's time to shut the place down. The average for users online never seems to peek past 6k anymore, compared to many years ago when the average was more between 10-30k.
