Wow that's scary. I can't believe the other one hasn't even been found yet. What is going on? They're all Asian flights as well.

From what I understand that area has had a huge boom in the air travel business and safety declined, not being able to keep up with the demand. Europe has a blacklist of airlines to try and force them to get better regulations and requires them to notify all European passangers that they are blacklisted. But when these people in that area lige in an archipelago and aren't carrying European passports they don't always know or have a choice. It's sadly common to have bad flights that go wrong, but apparently not fatalities.Wow that's scary. I can't believe the other one hasn't even been found yet. What is going on? They're all Asian flights as well.

Maybe someone closer to you/your circle has to be involved before the old conscience prevents you from making jokes about things like this.

Hopefully this one will actually be found given that they know roughly where it was at the time, it would be a miracle if there turns out to be any survivors though.
Certainly hasn't been a good time for Malaysian airlines recently...
This time the plane is Indonesia's AirAsia. So, yeah it's not really Malaysia this time.
Also found out about the debris a few minutes ago while having lunch. Lost most of my appetite.

That sucks, although it wasn't looking good from the start that there would be any sign of finding the plane intact.

AirAsia itself is Malaysian though and it took a pretty big drop in its share price as a result.

I read somewhere last week that something like 1:3 pilots die flying, just not in huge giant news stories like this. I'm going to try to find the link again.
I'm also watching the news and seeing a guy carry a small blue found suitcase is just so heartbreaking to me. I hate this.

At least the families of this tragedy will have more closure than the flight that went missing earlier this year.
Incredibly sad.
