Who doesn't love starters? They're totally adorbs and some even evolve into competitively-worthy little destroyers. I think they're all lovely, but I seem to have always had an obsession with charmander and its evolution line. I literally over played fire-red when I was younger, always picking the same starter. Anyways, what is your favorite or go-to starter poke and why? Is it power? Looks? Emotional attachment? Personally charmander's design is very appealing to me, I think the mega evolutions in the line are incredible too, as well as super-powerful.

Any of the fire types besides tepig. It's cute at the start, but then evolves into this awful looking boar. 

The only exception to this fire type thing is bayleef. 

 

I usually go for cuteness. Plus, I fire types are my second favorite next to dark types.

Chikorita. I love the three stages, I remember having a Meganium toy when I was younger.

Squirtle has always been my favorite since I got Blue version all those years ago. Cyndaquil is my second favourite.

Squirtle and Chimchar.  They're both cute and their evolutions have decent movesets.

Squirtle, Chikorita, Mudkip. Cuteness, nostalgia. I'd feel weird starting with Charmander. I don't like change very much.

Cuteness is my biggest factor in determining my starter.

Second factor being how ugly it gets when it evolves (I'm looking at you Chespin...)

When replaying older games & remakes I still tend to go with that same one from back in the day...

Suppose if I could only use one for every generation past, present, and future though... it'd probably be... Froakie, Piplup, or Mudkip. More than likely Froakie.

My faves are Squirtle, Totodile (because I loooove reptiles lol), Chikorita, Cyndaquail (yup, all three, in order of preferance) and Mudkip.

Pikachu too of course! After all, Yellow was my second Pokémon game ^^ My first was Red : D

Ever since I was a little kid with Pokemon Blue, my starter Pokemon is always fire. Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic...it's like a tradition for me. The only time I remember not picking a fire starter was in D/P/P because Piplup was cuter.

Charmander for sure, even with new gens I still always took the Fire type too. Fennekin is a close second!

Love me some water types <3 Always pick water types. Piplup or Mudkip would have to be my favourites though, so cute and then turn out so badass.

I'm pretty sure I chose fire every single time except for Piplup. Fennekin was one of my favorites though because of Delphox

I like Charmander, my first starter I ever had. I remember seeing Charizard on the box of Red and a friend told me that's what Charmander turns into. So I bought Red and chose Charmander, I remember the game being very hard. But I liked it alot. 

 

Gen1: Charmander
Gen 2: Cyndaquil - His evos are cool looking

Gen3: Torchic - Final Evo is pretty cool

Gen 4: Piplup - Final Evo is cool and unique in types

Gen 5: Oshawott - Love his 2nd evo

Gen 6: Froakie - Greninja is too cool, a ninja? Heck yeah. It's hard because I love Fennekin too. 

 

But I think in the end I'll still just always like Charmander.

Possibly Totodile. Too bad Feraligatr is crap and his hidden ability will never get released just because.

 

Or maybe it has and I just don't know. I'm just waiting for the next game now.
