Are the auth servers down?
Yup. You can always check it on /r/minecraft, there's a thing on the left that days what's working and what's down.

It's weird because it says they're down for me yet I can still get on to play on our server. 
Back up.
@Strategist and @Romy I have a question! Would it be at all possible to install a "common room" (or even just a tiny corner) at spawn with communal craft tables and furnaces for the sake of helping some of us who are a wee bit challenged get rolling? if not, that's cool too.

Server is currently offline due to a hardware issue on the hosts end. Will advise asap once its fixed.

You're not wrong there @Chappy! They're almost done fixing it, so hopefully it will be back very soon. It's my weekend off work and I wanna play Minecraft damnit!
I had wends off and I have time today :C But like after that I can't cus of finals.

SWEEEEEET! Excellent news!
@Strategist there is a glitch: I can no longer open my chests either at my base or in my shop.
My shop expires in 74 minutes, and I was going to go get my stuff out since I cannot afford to extend it, but could not open the chests. Then, upon returning to my base, it appears that I cannot open my chests there, either.
Is there some way to fix this up?

You need to use a 1.9 profile from the launcher

Ohhh 1.9.2 has been released? Try editing your profile from the launcher and where it says use current version on a drop down menu, choose 1.9 instead.
