I don't think so, Jumpstart would lose a lot of money if they closed Neopets down. They bought it last year for a lot of money so it would be dumb to close it down now.

I don't know, but it sure seems like the economy and fan base is decaying. A lot of people are quitting, there's less people online, and everything is deflating and not selling. It seems like Neopets is dying, but hopefully Jumpstart does something to revive interest in the game and attract a lot of people.

I wish someone would just get a small team of developers together and work on this.
It wouldn't take much to make Neopets awesome again...

Just means NP has more of a worth than Items have now. In comparison to the past.

The userbase has been dying since the site is lacking something to attract new users, whether it be mobile or something else. That image might come true if TNT refuses to innovate while they still have a community. Although, this time of year has less users in general, expect more users during the summer.

Deflation isn't really good, it means that the demand for everything lowered and/or the supply increased. I feel it's both because the RS system changed and a lot of people are leaving so the demand is lower. Things like Jade SS and Suap's and other retired/limited items shouldn't be deflating this much (yes there was the duping incident), but they deflate a lot more since everyone is valuing pure since no one really wants items right now, also there are less people in general on Neopets.

the MAIN concern is the sudden lag appear again........ they don't seem like buying a BIG SERVER to cover neopets anymore...... SIGHS!

I know, lag is a major issue, but a lot of people are also leaving. Even if the site becomes lag free, there will still be a much smaller userbase than there uesd to be.

Oh, definitely. Not a new revelation though; the site's been going downhill for a while now like others have said. I personally don't see an end to the lag. The staff has whittled down to a fraction of the team they used to be. There's no new plots or events and many annual events have been cancelled...I even read somewhere that the Altador Cup of all things was a "maybe" this year.

 

I myself am only logging in a few times a week now. It's boring.

Yea, sadly AC is only a maybe according to the editorial. I'm pretty sure they'll at least fix the lag eventually. Not sure if they'll ever fix keyquest, the attic, the battledome, or all the other broken things though.

Sure feels that way at times! Interest comes and goes much, much more now than it ever has before.

Ill take a gamble and hope for something to spark the economy again.

 

If it dies, it dies, but at least I still have pretty items to stare at.

I remember when pictures like this would spark conspiracy theories about a new plot. Now, everyone jumps to conclusions about the site shutting down. I really don't think a business would tell their customers "the end is near" in this way.

Neopets would. Then they'd laugh at the people who didn't see the signs and the ensuring chaos.

6 plagues (or very unfortunate events) to go before neopets dies then. I hope this isn't going to be as long and painful as i imagine the Egyptians felt their plagues were. lol
