Would they take the site offline forever and use the servers for something else?
Porn.
Now everything makes sense, when I think of those naked women ads all over neo.
And does Neopets have its own servers? I always thought they were using servers from the companies that bought them?
I don't know, I don't understand crap of IT. lol

Neither do I, but I can't find a reason why any company would buy Neopets since the site was dying already

Nope, Around me a saw a lot of people getting back, but leaving again but now for ever!
Site is dying slowly. And if you go to jumpstarts fb site, they are updating jumpstart a lot.
And when they got a lot of comment. They remove them and block them for leaving comment.
I heard some friends getting blocked allready. They didn't swear, they only gave some comments...
Sending in tickets got blocked for a lot of people also... a glitch on some browsers?.... And things like altador and what not are all broken also, they don't fix it. But there keep updating new things into there jumpstart game...
It seems they do use neopets servers for improving there own! And don't give a F* for all those people who are playing on this site in like forever.
And all of those younger Belgium en Dutch and some of the ABC Islands players can't win anything now, cause they just don't own English enough to make a good nt, story, caption or poem... And then all of those Asian players that are lost now... Think about how big of a art community neopets lose by making this choice... It will be a lot harder to sell stuff now too!
And what about Keyquest?

They're few improvements actually, a small one though, which cause bugs and glitches on other features

Yeesh, if this is correct, then its awful. I am fast losing respect for jumpstart. if they plan to kill the site, i would prefer they just said "we are closing the site as of ___", than continually screw people over.

Yeah and all without a warning! That's the real scary thing about all this! And we keep asking them for updates! But they are only giving us we are keeping the site down for a couple of hours... Come back later... And they share allmost nothing about what they are planning to work on or what there problems are so we might can bring some solutions to all of this! There are a lot of older and code knowing people around willing to spare some time helping tnt out. Even for free!(or maybe for a little trophy or some award)

sounds fishy to me! i just hope it all comes to pass very soon, no more annoying updates that = bad things.

But why would they buy Neopets? Getting over with the competition à la Mafia?
Neopets gots a lot of server space...
By all of those people quitting by all sort of reasons(they have created them selves)
They can make it sound legit saying the site is starting to die out and that its maybe better to invest servers for other use....
And by cutting of a part of Europe and the entire Asian continent they will lose a lot of active players!

I know it sucks but if you look at it from a business' point of view (whether it's Viacom or Jumpstart or anyone), is it really worth spending the money to keep something going that doesn't have much traffic? You could put that money towards other things. Professional translators aren't gonna work for a large business like this for free :x Getting paid with virtual goods isn't gonna buy you food or pay your rent.
Also, I don't know how much servers cost, but the idea of a company buying another company for $XXmillion just to use their servers doesn't sound right. Surely there are way cheaper ways to getting servers.

I wish there would be more improvements to actually help the site..
I mean there's nothing good about the restocking improvement if the lags makes it impossible to restock..
I think the lag and glitches should be their first priority instead of adding new stuff.. Now, everytime they fix or improve something, another thing gets broken

I still think they should be honest about their intentions with the people, but that's just me, i value people more than money in every situation.

I don't know but I would be really disappointed if my language was stopped from updating. Fortunately my first language is English but I think it kind of sucks for the minority who does play those given areas. I understand why they are stopping support but I feel like it is kind of sad though....I think it would be really cool if they could crowdsource that kind of thing but I know TNT would never agree to that kind of thing due to the chance of people abusing it. Like when a new item comes out for example, have users of other languages could come up for a name for it.
And I'm disappointed the crafting faerie trick is gone too. D:

I really think Jumpstart planned all this.
They don't want neo, they just wanted their servers and stuff.. I expect more changes to be come.
I swear, if they completely change the site to something else I'm going to be so dissappointed.

Does any of you remember the old dizzywood? It was a super cute site where you could move your avatar and go wandering, and fight, and play games. A bit like neo, only smaller and not so popular.
I used to play on it for a while, then I stopped and I'm not really sure what happened, but it got this super huge revamp and now it sucks and it's all about paying to play.
I suspect that neo is going to become just like that. Minimum expenses and full of kids who beg their parents for a premium membership or NC so that they can make progresses. Give it a few years.

Yeah I think I created an account a long time ago but I didn't really play it.
I googled it and I got this: "Dizzywood | A fun and free game for kids" haha not so free apparently

It bothers me how quickly people forgot Neo moved to JS's own servers.
