I don't see Jumpstart killing neopets after releasing their game.

 

I do see them injecting some new people (chosen by themselves) into TNT though. Time will tell.

I find it interesting that they've decided to do this almost exactly a year after acquisition. (When did they buy it last year? March 17? 18?) Maybe they were planning this for a long time.

Well, I'd like to see what the new people do with the site when JumpStart decides to fill those positions. It'd be nice to see the site get an update from the way it's been for a long time.

I'd guess they decided it didn't really make sense to keep two lots of people who do very similar things (i.e. their existing JumpStart staff who work on their existing games and the new staff they inherited after buying Neopets). In that situation it makes most sense to get rid of the new people than their own, established employees who will be used to their working procedures.

Agreed. Hiring new people can mean that Neopets can finally go into different directions unrestricted from 15 years of tradition.

Maybe, just maybe, we'll have a way to link sides and mains. That way we can transfer NC items across linked accounts without needing boxes. This came to mind because I had NC on my side, bought a capsule, and want to send the item to my main. I'll have to wait until the end of the month when they'll hopefully release GBC's. 

 

Maybe, just maybe, they'll listen to their players suggestions. If they want to change the site, it'd be a great idea.

I discussed all that has happened with neo with two friends of mine who happen to know quite a bit about businesses. And they both agree Jumpstart is just going to sit on neo until the advertisement contracts run out. Since they didn't pay a dime for neo (or at least that's the theory the company is in debt) why not just sit on it and make some cash for the remainder of the days that neo is playable?

Some programmers are still there, as are the monitors. I believe most likely, it was concept people that were laid off the most. Comstar was laid off, and she did the news, which is probably why we didn't get weekend news. Even though March 6th was "canceled", the news comes out a day early, so we still should have gotten the weekend news.
