Maybe I'm a little confused (wouldn't surprise me) but are you talking about finding him as in ...when he lets you choose one of the three eggs?
Because thedailyneopets site posts the location every day.
Or am I missing something? > A <

today the negg is at kiko pop.
be sure to collect the negg before attempting the daily
or at least before you collect the prize for the daily.
the popup after you claim your prize will block the negg collection
I got that and spent a long time to stop the page from loading
(the negg collection appears first then the popup)
no fun...

The avatar is awarded when finding the 8th egg in the day it's released, it doesn't have to be the first 8 days, that's why people are getting them for the past couple of days even tho they failed some earlier.
I just wish this would've already ended. So damn boring. Neopets bores me to hell nowadays, never felt like this before. I think it's time to give it a break.
