No, I just really love the Altador Cup. It's my all time favorite site event and I was really excited to finally be able to jump in and get started. That's the bullshit part. But now that I am older and have other things I really need to do, I let the programs do my dirty work. And if I'm going to cheat, I would like to be able to contribute to Team Codex's efforts. To do that, I need to up my forum stats. With signups being delayed it gives me more time to ensure than I can indeed contribute. There's the relief part. I'll gladly give to others, but I don't like being a charity case or receiving handouts. It's how I was brought up.

I think JumpStart can make games since they have their own ones but we don't really know what they're prioritising or what their plans are. Either way they'd never change it to Shockwave because it's pretty much a dead technology and it doesn't actually work for most people.

Phone apps are a bit different from web based flash games.

True. But with the way they've run neopets right now, I don't trust them to make a good one, since their other games are different from neopets ones. Sure, they're all based in code, but each one has different code for it as neopets games aren't the same as the ones they already made,  and I don't think they're used to neopets enough to manage to make on that doesn't suck.

Isn't that the truth. I feel like letting that last batch of TNT members go was a big mistake. I don't know if there are still any old TNT members left or if its all just JS folks now, but I hope there are still some people left that know what they are talking about.

Judging by their existing JumpStart games I think you're wise not to trust them, they all look like crap. In their favour they do seem to use Flash for their JumpStart web games anyway so they'll have Flash developers working for them who should be able to adapt to the setup of Neopets' games, I suspect we'll end up seeing more basic mobile games to start with though.

Hmm.  A mobile element/game for the Altador Cup... that'd be a refreshing and promising change I'd like to see.
Doubt it'd be this year, but wouldn't be surprised for a 2016 release after they've personally witnessed & managed a "normal" AC on site.

I don't know how that was rude in any way.

 

On the note of mobile, JS isn't competent enough to make a bejeweled clone without it having laggy transitions and slurred gameplay so I wouldn't have hope for something major like the AC by them.  Not to mention the awful issue others seem to have where prizes or neopoints are sent to their accounts.

That'd be awesome. I'd definitely download. It could bring a (much needed, imo) whole new dynamic to how the AC usually goes down.

Hopefully it's just a "baby steps" sort of thing and not truly an incompetence matter.

Little changes here and there, get their feet wet trying new things, learn from their mistakes, then improve and build upon that foundation for future releases. Y'know?

But maybe I'm just too much of an optimist when it comes to JumpStart & the future of Neo. 

 

 

Wish we could get some of our guys on their staff.

They'd get that shit fixed and updated in no time as our programmers are the best.
