I had no idea there was such a stigma to owning a UC...I want to buy one eventually just because I have money and a job and I rather spend all the time practicing useful skills at my job than spending a year or more trying to trade up to some pixel that in a few hours, I could afford. 

Yeah, I had kind of thought about it for pretty much the same reasons, but the thing is, my accounts are totally legit, so it doesn't seem worth the risk. Especially when the PC is so suspicious

I was wondering - if you buy a UC from someone on a site like this that they're selling because they don't play neopets much anymore, if someone reports you could you still get frozen even if the pet isn't stolen?

Its against the rules to sell pets i believe and im pretty sure the Tumblr UC scouts will report you if they see the UC suddenly transferred.

I'm actually surprised that people are still buying pets with real money knowing how bad Neopets is right now with the uncertainty of its future hovering over our heads.

Haven't seen many trades lately, but I imagine prices will naturally fall due to decreased demand. Like, NC items nowadays are worth shiet. No one wants 'em, even if you sell for cheap! :]

How the crap do they have time for all that? It reads like there's a giant spread sheet somewhere of UC pet genealogy that they just update every blood day. Do I understand that they think people are hacking old accounts to steal pets? (I'm not going to ask if that's possible, because, probably it is.)

 

So...I'm not an expert or anything, but I guess there's a way to track pets through Google's image cache? A lot of these people will find UC's on inactive accounts, stalk the photo of the pet to see where it came from, and then just keep an eye on it to see if the account somehow becomes active again just to sell the UC.

I remember ava_ked and his friends tried to get me frozen after i bought a pet he wanted but didnt work. he started a big thing on boards too to get me iced.
