and well basically

But really, it was awesome. Despite all this common core bullshit, I got to see (most of) my students grow. Some failed, some flew in the middle, and some exceeded my expectations by a landslide, but in the end it's all coming down to their test scores. Kinda sucks. Hopefully enough of my students will pass and I'll still have a job.

Woot Woot! Congratulations! And my condolences. The test score mambo sucks balls, especially when you students really make gains during the year and then bomb out anyway. :/ I'm sure you will still be there next year! Are you carting between rooms? I'm not sure how it is in math departments.

Nope! I have my own room, thankfully. The only time I have to leave it is when I have my 7th graders. The 6th and 7th graders have all of their classes in one section of the building, and my room is outside of that section.

Thanks! They're not too bad. Most days :p

Oh man, I remember that standardized test BS. I am really good at tests, but my practical skills are pretty limited. :/

Tests are bad for everyone involved (except the people who sell the tests)

So I got laid off. My test scores were all great, and all of my students moved on to the next level. However, the budget didn't pass and dozens of new hires were laid off, including me. Sucks.

I think I'm going to take this opportunity to go back to school and try my hand in the medical world. I'm feeling pretty shitty.

I'm sorry :( At least your students did well! You should feel proud of yourself for that.
