I'm talking about things like grapes of wrath or shenkuu stamp. How do people sell items that are this expensive for pure neopoints?

I don't know what the answer is, but I know it ISN'T to advertize on the neoboards or TP or set up an auction from an account that doesn't look super legit. They will report your ass ASAP

Yeah but there's always the horror story you read of someone with a UC who got banned because crazies report them because they *think* it might be stolen/illegitimate..

I always see people throwing around 50m+ in the battledome forums on neopest though..

Yeah don't. Not just yet unless your account looks super legit. With the duping phenomenon a while ago, everyone is all skeptical of high-end items.

Not really.
You realize we're talking about a bunch of bigots who spend their days searching for things that make them jealous on other people's accounts? And TNT? They tend to freeze first and never ask questions.
The best and safer way to sell such items is probably using a cheating community, tbh.
Now if only we knew about one...

NOT true. i have more than ill ever use and my guild mates were complaining about the same thing the other day. i got like 7 mil more in two days selling acfi stocks and some other stock. banked it...and there it will sit. it basically has no purpose anymore. im DYING to finish my gallery, theres a few goodie bags and yooyu balls i need but they cost millions and i dont know how to purchase them with pure either. it IS quite a problem. one person wants 20mil for a cybunny goodie bag which is fine but how do i even begin to pay for that??

You make a super good point. There needs to be a better system for trading items/currency

Pretty sure auction limits now are 50m start, 50m bid. Not sure how a 20m items can't be traded/auction?

 

As for Shenku stamp, is that over 100m? if not, poke answer above.

As for GoW, trade for multiple BD items worth it's price and sell for pure. Or do a split auction via pure if you trust the buyer.

There's another thread regarding hard to sell items in general here. Just note that my strategy regarding sales targets mid-tier items worth up to 15M each and I stop restocking once I get to an estimated 20M in one day (or the scheduled 8 hours per account.) Most of the comments regarding "fun" auctions and advertising still apply here, though.

 

Just note that the thread was created prior to the most recent duping glitch People are far more likely to be report happy at the moment simply due to the fact that there was a well known duping glitch within the last week. Personally I'd say stick all items (legit or otherwise) that sell for more than a few million each in the SDB and wait for the drama to blow over. You'll be more likely to sell them without a suspicious user reporting you. For maximum profit I know I avoid selling to resellers, but it's a good way to get rid of things quickly.

 

And as another user noted! Selling certain items on Neocodex's trading forum is very welcome. You can use in-game currency or other payment methods when trading. Just be sure to read the Neocodex Trading Post Guides first to get a bearing of how the area works and what the rules and habits are
