What made you become vegetarian? Why are you still vegetarian? What's the meat you miss the most if you're a convert?

How raw?
Brown on the outside, pink on the inside is perfect (Medium). I'd rather err on the side of under-done and get medium-rare over medium-well. Shit's delicious. Serve it with a loaded baked potato and that's why I'm fat.

You're nuts. That sounds perfect. How was it seasoned? If it's a good steak, just some salt and pepper is all that's really required.

I'm vegetarian for ethical and health reasons. It started before I was 10 and I fully switched to no animal products at 10/11 at the oldest. I was then predominately vegan for a while because I was lactose sensitive. and didn't eat eggs anyway.
I enjoy salmon however I tried that a few years ago. I've eaten chicken and nearly every time I do (typically drunk) I cry. I could give you a much longer in depth message but kind of terrified to share all of that here. :3

I LOVE meat. Love Love Love Love meat.
It just taste soooo good.
I've been vegetarian for ~1 year now due to ethical reasons. After learning the states that animals are raised in and the butchering process, I couldn't eat meat anymore. Hopefully, this is a lifestyle that I will stick to for life.
Despite that, I sometimes do miss the taste of meat.
Out of all the meats, I miss beef the most. Pizza is just not the same without sausage.

I went pescatarian once, I tried to do vegetarian but only lasted a few weeks. I missed steak the most, I was probably lacking in iron from no red meat. I did it to "try and be more healthy" but in the end not much changed since I still ate junk food.

I was vegetarian for four years or so. I did it for ethical reasons (I'm sure some of you people are laughing at me right now) but I've since figured out that my body doesn't do well under that kind of diet and there really is no "ethical" diet that I can afford.

i tried it for a week last year because i wanna look cool but i when i went home for a semester break and told my mom she refused to serve me any vegetarian meals so i had to drop my newly-discovered lifestyle. ![]()

Interesting that most of the vegetarians here don't do it for ethical reasons.
I guess my opinion is not on topic because I'm not a vegetarian but I'll share it anyway. I would never try being a vegetarian because we were made to eat everything so I don't see why I should artificially restrict myself. Some things I don't like about western vegetarianism is desperately trying to create food that resembles meat dishes. It's a lot of chemicals, advertised as "healthy" because everything vegetarian is healthy and may remotely remind you of the original thing. Or when meat dishes are altered to make them vegetarian it usually tastes like crap. I tried (supposedly because I can't say for sure) real Indian food and it was mostly vegetarian and was really tasty. If dishes are vegetarian in the first place, they're great.
I wish I could eat a bit less meat than I do though. Too much of one thing is never good.

Artificially restrict yourself? Nature doesn't plan your diet for you. Or any animal's diet, for that matter. All animals survive by finding food sources that prolong their lives. It's natural selection. As long as you're still living, you have eaten successfully. Anything past that is politics.Interesting that most of the vegetarians here don't do it for ethical reasons.

Does just not eating sea food count? Lol
But on a serious note, I have hypothyroidism, snapping hip syndrome, and SED/ARFID so my "safe food" group is insanely small :l
