Interesting. I'm pretty sure there's a limit on how much NP the bank can store, but I'm not sure what it is, so there would be a limit to how much interest you would get and after a while, you wouldn't be able to collect any interest anymore.

Yeah I believe the max on neo is somewhere around 2.3 billion

I feel like the only ones that would be would be the TNT "favorites". You know, the users that suck up to TNT and kiss their butt all the time so TNT gives them free stuff.

I wonder if anyone that abused the bank glitch earlier this year to max their bank was able to keep their accounts... that would have been cool. So much money to spend!

Actually with program available here..... you can make 1 billion nps in long term. As long you play SAFE and PRAY HARD not to get caught..... everything will goes your way but you have to WORK even harder..... even using program.

Not to sound super naive, but was this really a thing? How does one suck up to a staff? Being report happy?

It was. Basically you just go along with everything TNT says. If someone on the boards says they did something wrong, you defend them, and I guess then report that user for "spreading lies about TNT". (I actually got a warning about that once when I mentioned on the boards that neopets has been hacked before). You try and tell everyone on the boards about the rules if you think they broke one. Basically, you pretend to love TNT and become their public defender. Or something like that. 

 

There was a user called "featheralley" at one point who was a TNT favorite.

See, I've read that article long ago, but it sounds so "conspiracy"-y that I didn't know what parts were true and what parts weren't. I wasn't around too much in the beginning (and when I was, I was 10 years old and blissfully aware). Good to know.

 

I guess the idea of stopping people knowing Neopets was hacked is to stop people from knowing Neopets can be hacked. But to be fair, the ones capable of hacking Neopets already know if it's possible or not, so whatever. I feel like harassment or taking advantage of players obviously should be reported (mostly because I'd hate for kids to be taken advantage of), but I feel like people are report happy when it comes to things that don't affect them. -shrugs-

I found out that the more you have the less things you think there are to spend your NP on.
When I had just a few millions all I used to think about was to complete my stamp albums, get my dream pets, build an avatar/MP, PB gallery. When I finally looked at my bank account I realized I could have everything I lost interest in getting it, because I made tons of accounts to get quest cookies to win FFQ and make my dreamies, in those accounts I won tons of PB/MP to put on my main gallery, several years of ABing and RE gave me the stamps... Nowadays, and despite the fact I still need tons of stamps, I have way too many NP but no urge at all to spend them. I just like to look at my bank thinking about the times I was newbie and had less than the interest I collect today.
So, you see, having millions and millions is not that amazing.

This is true. And this was the case for me since 6 ~ 7 years ago. ^^ Back then only 3 items were out of reach for me, other than those one of a kind and NFS obviously. I started towering Baby PB every few days with my bank interest. The amount I currently have in my SDB is ridiculous, lol. 

 

In the epic thread last Sept/Oct, I mentioned this fact. Many will get frozen trying to sell dupes asap. Clever users will survive if they ignore dupes for 6months ~ 1 year. Half of these survivors will quit shortly after the safe period, because there isn't anything to work for anymore.  Got too rich, too quick.
