Was this a surprise to anyone? Auto tune has been a staple in music ever since Britney Spears first came out. It is in all country music, pop music, rock music, made by major record labels. In a corporate society like we have today, money is all they care about. Money is the only thing worthy to these corporations, and so nothing you see or hear from them is really true. Just like hamburgers from any fast food joint, they do not actually look like what is presented in advertising.
