Hi!

I currently use the item database as the rs list and it keeps buying this one item that I am not making any profit on.  THe price listed in the item database is off, how can that be updated?

Is the price of the item buyable? If so you can't update it, it's regularly updated by bots.

What did you put in as profit? Maybe try setting that a bit higher. (mine's at 5000np)

Change shops or make a list without that item on it. :)

I just lost a lot of money today because it bought 15 of the same item (saying it was an over 10k profit when I actually lost over 1k on each one)

Does this item happen to be Kale and veggie special? etc. I just use a list now. Seeing that you are an advanced member you can probably use a restock list generator.

hi, first post on here :)

1)my abrosia buys items and says they have a good profit, but on SSW they don't. sometimes they're worth less than what i paid!

    2) the only times it buys things is when i bring it up from my dock and look at it. do i have to have it up on my screen actively in order for it to work, or is it okay to minimize it??

    Hi, welcome. :)

    1) The prices in our Item Database are an estimate based on the average lowest price of an item rather than being the very lowest price an item will sell for. Because of that they'll tend to be slightly higher than that very lowest price point so you should adjust your settings accordingly or perhaps consider a manual list if you want to target specific items.

    2) If you're using a Mac I think there's something to do with a feature called App Nap which causes inactive applications to pause in order to save energy. I don't really know much about Macs but I believe you can disable that feature for an individual program? We've had posts made about it before but I can't seem to find them.

I've been using abrosia for finding usuki items and i've noticed that quite a few items Abrosia buys, has the item's "estimated price" like way higher than it actually is. The "last priced" would always be a few hours ago too. And the estimated price doesn't really add up with the "shop owners" prices.

The prices in the database are not the very lowest an item will sell for, so that happens sometimes. As for the estimated price, that may possibly be caused by half price day in which the item prices change, or by where the users hagging is set at, as Abrosia is the one that updates the estimated prices (since neon AP can't update estimated prices because it doesn't buy anything). It is an estimated price after all, and estimates wouldn't be called estimates if they were exact all the time.

A manual list will be your choice. Here's the tutorial:

    http://www.neocodex....-free-ab-lists/

The prices for item in database is much less reliable than it was a few years before, due to the downfall and sharp decrease in item prices.  Jellyneo itemDB stands a better reference, at least it can be mentioned inside Neopets forums and mails.

Not sure if this is still active but I was wondering a bit about how ambrosia works.. It's half price day and I just bought an item that normally restocks for <2k and it payed apx 1500nps.. does it have a price it thinks the item is set at or does it actually "read" the price set in the shop?

I believe it reads the price in the actual shop, but what it pays is dependent on your haggle percentage. That's the precent of NP it takes off the price when it offers on the item.

Yeah, it reads the price from the main shop when it restocks and then calculates the haggle price from that.

Thx guys! ya'll are awesome! I wasn't sure how safe it was on half price day because of this.. got my first RS ban today too. I have the haggle price set low because once it denied a big ticket item with the original settings thats probably why it wasn't much less than OPrice
